I have not seen any posts from him lately. I hope he is OK. Any news on him? I figured he would be all over the DT hiring.

oberebo is fine. I am still trying to digest all of the news. Have to admit I was a Coleman Scott fan and I feel for him. David Taylor may be just the person to lead us out of the doldrums both as a coach and also as a recruiting magnet.
There are some new posters on the board and that is overall a good thing. As you know I believe the NIL will in its present form (with no caps on it) be the end of wrestling as I know and love it.
It will cause the cancellation of many programs and lead to a business, not a sport, dominated by 8-10 teams and if restrictions are not put on the portal there will be further erosion. Wrestling authorities have to make some decisions now to prevent this from happening. Wrestling in the future might just be a club sport for the majority of the colleges.
That is my pessimistic view of what could happen but in the meantime I look forward to watching wrestling from my seats in section 203 row 1 and cheering on the cowboys. I may not
be as enthusiastic as I was in 1960 when I watched wrestling for the first time as a student at
OK State but I still appreciate great wrestling and I wish the new regime great success.
I may still post from time to time but for the most part I will just lurk in the wings and
leave the prognostications to the old and new posters on our board

I've always enjoyed your posts Oberebo and wish you posted more. Your knowledge is needed now more than ever.
I said yesterday that wrestling needs to get their crap in order because the new shift coming down from the NCAA can potentially decimate wrestling. I even mentioned wrestling becoming a club sport just yesterday. Our sport is in peril.
OSU has a great future with DT and I understand when you've ridden shotgun with a coach for 33 years, it's hard to see anyone else in that seat. I hope you get to see an OSU title before you're forced to give it up for good.
Thanks for your post and I think you are right about David Taylor. Coleman Scott and I share a name as Coleman is my middle name and I have a grandson named after me and his father, Coleman James. I also think let is sometimes good to let go of the normal (Cowboy coaches) and try something new. I do believe part of our drop from the top was a certain staleness in our approach and it will not hurt to explore new ways to reach greatness. John put us on top with a new approach and now it is time to let it happen again.
