Columbia's Nighthawk is so good you'll want to go twice. Take your wife on Valentine's Day and your sweetheart the next evening.

No better place than Denny's on Nicholasville Road. You won't regret it. Waffle House is another.

Got you RILED UP, Jack!

Seriously, Nighthawk special.

No but more seriously, learn the search function on the website.

Don't choke on the meat.

Breathe through your nose for a change. Seriously.

Dudley's does a nice steak, so does Cole's. Have heard good things about Blue Heron but actually haven't been. Not sure where Malone's quality is at these days.

Go to Louisville or Cincy and take her to Jeff Ruby's. Homerun.

I know chains are a sign of being one of the poors, but IMO Longhorn makes about as good of a steak as i've had. Malone's reputation is really bad these days, at least on here, and i've never had a steak from any of the non-chain places in Lexington.

Lass has a friend coming in from Owensboro with her boyfriend.

Got shut down on Hammerhead's again. She's not down with me getting lost on the way and waiting for a table at that dungeon bar. To me
that's part of the experience. Could eat at that joint weekly.

May give Roux a try.

I thought my experience at the Heron was underwhelming. I appreciate an old school steak and potatoes place but you better crush both. I'll give it another run though because there really isn't much else to do it in Lex.

I'd say the best steak is at Dudley's or Coles. Azur does a great job as well.

He's not going to fair much better after they're both full of red meat and potatoes. I guess some people's definition of "loving" is loosening their belt, farting, and falling asleep watching a movie.

There is absolutely no way you have almost 25000 posts and haven't seen this thread at least 25 times. I'm just saying.

Tulip on Romany Road was pretty good...I still like the Merrick Inn as well and it hasn't been mentioned...As someone said Jeff Ruby's in Louisville or Cincinnati...Can't go wrong with Ruth's Chris either in those two cities.

What can you say, everyone knows Applebee's. I'm just happy a restaurant survived at this location.

Always seating inside, but curbside service is ideal.

I have to repeat the complaints others have left here about the horrible service. There really does seem to be a bad vibe in this place; it just feels like no one wants to be there, including the customers. Our server was definitely amongst the worst I've ever had. No smiles, not a single effort above the minimum not to show outright hatred for her job. I looked around and saw a lot of the same everywhere. Based on the other reviews, I have to imagine this wasn't just an off night for this place, but rather the norm.

I'm usually a fair person rating on places n things... but this time I really do not understand whats going on with some restaurants in lexington... My family n I came here on a Saturday night..... the hostess that took us to our seat did not had one bit of smile.... we asked for a booth and she hesitated and was like oh we dont have any but then she decided to take us to a booth..... Once we sat down I looked around and I saw a lot of booths empty.... ok then our waitress came and greet us with no enthusiasm, not even a smile.... is it just me or no one smiles here??? It was like she saw a bad sore or something.... im gonna give it her off day....

The guy that brought out our food was a lot better... at least he was happy to see us... I mean at least crack a smile ladies!!!!

Ok now for the food.... hmmm what can I say.... I have have had a lot better in Atlanta!!! Potatoe chips good, appetizer sampler the only thing that was decent was mozzarella sticks!!! The boneless chicken omg sour sauce!!!!!! We had to 2 for $20 entree.... my ribs wasss well im not sure .... presentation could of been better..... it looked old

I guess I have to try another location next time I'm in town..... cuz I believe in greay customer service =happy customer even though food isnt great!!!

The worst Applebee's experience i've ever had, and the manager didn't even care! The server was snotty and rude, put our drink orders in BEFORE happy hour and we didn't get them until AFTER, and because the bartender poured them "after happy hour ended" we had to pay full price. Soggy food, cold rice, bad service.

Take the time and drive down to Hamburg, this place is a disaster.

This is the worst Applebee's location in Lexington, very poor management which is sad because of the convenient location. The menu is always changing and they do have Happy hour which includes a few select appetizers.

Terrible service. Hostess appeared preoccupied and went through the logy motions of seating us. We received our menus promptly and the waiter took our drink order. However, 10 minutes later, we received only half of it. 15 minutes after that, he was nowhere to be found and still had not returned to deliver the other half of our drinks or to take our main order. It was not busy and what appeared to be the manger was engrossed in a conversation, completely oblivious, across the room during our entire visit. We simply left. We were actually approached by another customer in the parking lot who had just left and he talked to us about experiencing similar service. We won't be back.

I have never had a bad meal here and the service is always good. Occasionally, like in any Applebee's, the music will be played too loud by the bartender, but if you ask them to turn it down.

We had a great experience here for dinner. Husband and I both ordered the Cajun steak and it did not disappoint! Also the salsa and chips that we had while waiting for the steaks were very good. The salsa was well seasoned and mixed with pico de gallo. Our waitress was excellent and I hope she realized how much we appreciated her when she saw our tip.

I had a Long Island Tea from the bar which was perfect! Would go back again in a heart beat. Our best eating experience of our vacation.

Reviews below (bighorn stake company):

If you are looking for a great steak [/B]and great service for a fair price, this is it. This not a top end steak house but the quality of the steaks are a cut above the rest. Our last visit the wife and I really enjoyed the service that Charles provided and the manager Rebecca was exceptional. I ordered the Prime Rib it was so tender and my wife order the tilapia with mango salsa. We both really enjoyed everything [/B]about our experience.

In the ghost town of the abandoned Turfland mall parking lot sits LongHorn...a steakhouse fit for the biggest cowboy in Texas. A steakhouse so rugged, so themed, that it rewards servers with giant belt buckles.

The Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms were my favorite of the two appetizers we sampled. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly. They were tender and delicious with a generous helping of cheese [/B]and sauce on top. Mushrooms are easy to get wrong, but LongHorn gets them oh so right! I also enjoyed the Wild West Shrimp. It was spicy and served with peppers.

The Farmers' Market Bibb Salad was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. It was great to hear about how LongHorn offers seasonal dishes to take advantage of ingredients when they are at their freshest.[/I]

I rare[/B]ly eat steak[/B], so their 7 oz Flo's Filet was a real treat for me[/B]. It had a great flavor to it and didn't require any steak sauce to enjoy. Although, I did sample the savory steak sauce that our excellent server, Chase, prepared tableside. I had the loaded baked potato as my side and it came full of butter, sour cream, cheese, and bits of bacon.

Confession: sometimes I come to LongHorn and eat a salad just so that I can eat every bite of their thrilling Chocolate Stampede dessert. It's the best chocolate cake in town.
[/B]
Man, LongHorn knows how to make customers stuffed. We were treated to a five course dinner compassing[/B] of a grilled white cheddar stuffed mushrooms Wild West shrimp, new Farmers' Market Bibb Salad which was fresh and looks like it came out of the Farmers Market.

The chicken was delicious, but not the best in town though this is a steakhouse so my gut feeling is like other reviewers that the steaks are one of the best in town but I can't fetch for that ;) However, I can fetch the vegetables were fresh and authentic which you typically don't find in a chain restaurant.

The dessert especially the chocolate stampede was to die for, it was a TEXAN sized two HUGE 7 layer chocolate cakes with two gargantuan scoops of vanilla ice cream and the new blueberry lemon butter cake is an interesting addition to the LongHorn brand, my girlfriend said it is good for breakfast.

The general manager is extremely friendly and has a big heart like the state of Texas[/B]. We had a genuine conversation and you can tell that he cares about the restaurant.

While I flunked my steak education, at least I got to learn the art behind cooking steak and how serious it is.

The staff were attentive and always trying to make sure we were satisfied and pleased. I left the restaurant with a loose belt and a free pass to the gym for the week :)

An epic and well organized event! Kudos to all of those involved in planning.

First visit to this place.
Wanted to like it but didnt.
The bread was good, so was salad.
I ordered a flat steak, but they were out of it. Tried sirloin which was poor and I couldn't eat. Manager offered to let me try something else but after trying another entree I just gave up. Very disappointing.

Excellent steaks the most juicy and tasteful in town. Of course longhorn steakhouse in each state I have been to has always been consistently of the highest quality steaks. The attention to detail on freshness is the key to a wonderful dining experience

This review is for my visit a few weeks ago and my general experience that I have had with Longhorn's in the past. I did visit here last night for a yelp event and if all my previous experiences had been like the one last night I would rate them at least four stars.

My visit a few weeks ago I ordered the boneless ribeye[/B]. I was disappointed that it wasn't as flavorful as it should have been. It had no taste except for in the last two bites I took. I had the sweet potato that night as well and while it's was okay, I've had better. The server that night was excellent, so it had nothing to do with him. Every time I've ate at a Longhorn, the steaks haven't wowed me[/B]. I prefer TX roadhouse and Malone's steaks over here. Now saying that, I finally had a great bone in ribeye from longhorn's night at the yelp event. If they were to taste like that at my previous experiences it would rate higher stars

Solid option. Came here for lunch. Service is good, and on par with what one might expect for a steakhouse chain restaurant. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, always nearby but not obviously so, and engaging.

Food is good. I went with the signature chicken and raspberry salad. Didn't feel especially "manly" with that option, but I'd been on the road all week and was looking for something lighter. This was noted on the menu as a signature selection. I liked it! Chicken was cooked nicely - good texture, flavorful, and tender[/B]. Not fancy. Just a straightforward salad.

Entrees at our table also looked to be in that same vein - not fancy, but a straightforward option.

Ponderosa. Order your favorite steak, pound the unlimited bar, then wrap the steak in that tin foil crap and save it for tomorrow / PROFIT.

Nighthawk special was a hit for me. We went to the one downtown. Lighting is appropriately dark. However, why choosing steak? It is not usually my first choice of meals on Valentine's Day. I'm more likely to go for Italian or Japanese because we don't go to those places normally, but I don't know about the quality of those restaurants in Lexington.

The jaded nature of this board is at an all time high these days and makes for some truly quality reading.
