Newsflash: the NBA has a lot of tall guys, but they all can move their feet. Remember a NU center last year, his name is Alex Olah. There is a reason why 7' footers with limited foot quickness or lateral quickness do not make it in the NBA. There are taller, more athletic players (6'10" - 7') in the NBA who will destroy Haas and send his shots back in his face. A friend of mine who watches Purdue much closer than me said that Haas has stone hands also. So in addition to his slow feet, he has stone hands. There was at least one obvious instance last night of his hands yesterday, where the ball squirted out of his hands and he blew an uncontested dunk. I don't think you will see a huge change in his game in his senior season. I mentioned that claim by the poster above who said that Haas would be a better pro than Swanigan and all the Purdue fans near me broke out in laughter. Give credit to Painter for convincing Haas, a 7'2" center from Alabama, to go to West Lafayette when Purdue was coming off a last place finish and AJ Hammons was already the starting center at PU and Painter's seat was getting hot. It is funny how that happens (you can fill in the blanks).
Swanigan will be drafted in the late first round this season, because he can bang down low and has a strong post game and has good touch on his shot and he has a willingness to work as shown by his immense weight loss over the past couple of years. He has a NBA future and Haas does not.
