Again, $60 x2 or x4, etc. plus parking, plus food isn't chump change in this economy. People don't have a bottomless money well in their back yards.

I will start off by saying that I wouldn't pay that much for basketball tickets either, but this is comparing apples to orange. Your comparing buying tickets to a championship caliber team to one that hasn't been to a bowl game in the past 5 years. Expectations play a huge part in what they can sell tickets for. Plus only around 1/3 as many tickets available to sell compared to the size of the football stadium.

Don't let facts get in the way.

Let me expand on your very good post, UK football tickets are extremely cheap compared to basketball tickets and tickets at other SEC football programs. Why? Because we have been terrible and the demand is comparably low. Heads up, when we start winning in football, demand will go up and so will ticket prices.

Free (kinda) from the comfort of my own living room. Just because Matt jones says it doesn't make it an "outcry".

Actually, the fact I don't know game times until 12 days at the earliest before the game is a bigger problem for me than ticket prices. I don't live in Lexington and I actually have a life outside football where you need to be able to plan for things.

Bingo. Our basketball tickets are some of the most expensive in the country. Tickets for Alabama, LSU, Auburn football etc are often in the hundreds.

So, yeah, people need to understand $60 even for nosebleeds for a big, impactful SEC game are very cheap. I sympathize with those who cant afford to go though. I'm a single guy who lives in Lexington. If I had kids, had to travel and gas, feed the family, etc I wouldnt be able to afford it either. Y'all are completely justified in being upset.

It doesn't matter what you compare ticket prices to because it's driving fans away that have a tough enough time as it is. You can take half of what season tickets cost and buy a good TV and still enjoy the games.

The outcry should be from the UK money collectors/accountants about why the prices aren't higher...

Seriously, UK basketball is on an all time level in all aspects. They could probably charge 20%-30% more at least, and be able to keep a straight face.

There is no competition for UK athletics, especially Basketball. No pro teams, only 1 other big P5 program in the state.
