If our problems on/off the court persist and manifests in a loss tonight…..where do we go from here?
We certainly have problems, but beating Loyola (2-4) isn't one of them.If our problems on/off the court persist and manifests in a loss tonight…..where do we go from here?
The entire BBN is already looking to torpedo this years team after 2 early season losses to 2 pretty good teans. What do you think they would do if we lost to a team we’re favored to beat by 34 points? If our problems on/off the court persist and manifests in a loss tonight…..where do we go from here?
When Mashburn,Givens and Dan Issel talk about how bad we have looked it's more than something fans made up in their minds....I like to think back to a few months ago when this site was upset that Pope wasn't a Coach of the Year finalist. Now, two ugly losses in the first five games, against good teams mind ya, and the wolves are at the door, implying Pope isn't ready. I have to wonder how many of them are the same people and how many of them showed up just because he lost a couple of games. This place really is crazy!
To answer the op's question....If we lose tonight this site will implode but Pope and UK will still be here. As they both should.
Season is over and Pope’s seat goes nuclear.Shouldn't happen. They are a really bad team. But Evansville shouldn't have happened either. Let's say the unimagable happens and we lost, I'm not sure that's recoverable.
This. It’s ridiculous that we’re the bad guys when UK are agreeing with us.When Mashburn,Givens and Dan Issel talk about how bad we have looked it's more than something fans made up in their minds....
And it’s our head coach being unable to form a complete sentence afterwards (without a 60 second pause to gather his thoughts)It’s not about “2 bad losses” to good teams, it’s 2 bad losses with how UK lost, and why!
Two T-totally different things!
I didn't say we looked good. We stunk! But ya don't fire the guy that looked like a COTY last year after two bad games. Give the man just a tiny chance. Some people are just nuts and the season just started. Wow! I assure you and all that things gotta stay terrible a lot longer before Mitch is gonna hear ya whining. When Mashburn,Givens and Dan Issel talk about how bad we have looked it's more than something fans made up in their minds....
No it's not. I trust that Pope will right the ship. If so, those two ugly losses will be two early losses to tier 1 teams to the selection committee. This site, too...I hope. If he doesn't, Pope will still be our coach for at least another year and probably longer unless he steps down. I don't think people are nearly as upset about the losses as they are how we lost. When Dan Issel says it looks like you put UK uniforms on guys that have never played before there's a serious problem that goes way beyond the losing. The entire BBN is already looking to torpedo this years team after 2 early season losses to 2 pretty good teans. Hiroshima was a sunny day at the beach technically lolHiroshima would have been a sunny day at the beach, by comparison.
The question is not about how bad we looked but about us getting on track. I believe we do, soon. Oh, and tonight we play a veteran team that won't make it easy to "find ourselves." If the line is 34.5, I'd take the points and hope I'm wrong. I can hear it now though...we win by 27 and the sky is falling.I don't think people are nearly as upset about the losses as they are how we lost. Nope, we lose tonight and Pooe is done for. That’s Gardner Webb like game for BCG.Shouldn't happen. They are a really bad team. But Evansville shouldn't have happened either. Let's say the unimagable happens and we lost, I'm not sure that's recoverable.
Tier 1 teams or not we have lost tonight way too many mediocre teams by 20 in his tenure then we ever should. We should always be competitive and he gets blown out regularly. No it's not. I want you to be right so bad. But I just can't see it. This is a program that's lost it's way. A sw 16 and 24-12 record and 5th place finish with a 10-8 record in conference play does not equate to a COTY. Good Lord. Anyone who was claiming he should have been were being very biased.I didn't say we looked good. We stunk! But ya don't fire the guy that looked like a COTY last year after two bad games. Hurley and UConn was 24-11overall in a far weaker Big East last year. They lost 3 games in November to Memphis, Co, and Dayton...and looked horrible doing it.A sw 16 and 24-12 record and 5th place finish with a 10-8 record in conference play does not equate to a COTY. Mostly because of the drama surrounding the team, Pope’s bizarre comments and especially the effort, or lack thereof, the team is putting out. It’s concerning that we’ve gotten blown out by the only two teams with a pulse.Hurley and UConn was 24-11overall in a far weaker Big East last year. Again, we need to right this ship but it's like 17 days into the season and some fools are ready to hang Pope.
