Who do you think the opt outs will be for the Pinstripe Bowl?

We already know Zane Durant.
On Defense I would expect:
-DDS
-A.J.Harris

On offense I would expect:
- K. Allen (RB)
- N. Singleton (RB)
- Vega (LG)
,- Pena (WR)
- Shelton (LT)
- Hudson (WR)
- Ross (WR)

There could also be some younger players that are going to portal so they might opt out.

I hope the opt outs will make themselves known now so the coaches can practice with those who will play and get young players reps.

Naturally I am guessing. Zuriah Fisher, Wheatley, Alonso Ford on defense. I would imagine the first string offensive players will all opt out given they are draft-eligible.

Who is leaving the program will also likely not play but no idea who this would be. If Knowles stays I suspect that Campbell (LB) will stay given how he has thrived under Knowles.

This will be a good opportunity for players who will never play football again to compete one more time and for young players to get some added playing time.

I'd guess at least a dozen, but probably closer to 20. I would think it depends on Terry's role during the lead up and game.

Not mutually exclusive, but Kobe is more of a priority as he has already demonstrated he belongs. There is talent in the wings, its just a matter of finding someone to develop them and someone who is willing to use younger players.
Both would be really important for the program, especially in light of the 2026 class.

I suspect they will be big-game hunting in the portal to back fill the loss of the 26 class. Kraft will be very motivated to replenish he program, even if it means a stop gap measure.

Yes, Mercenaries. But you cannot compete in a gunfight with a pocket knife.

Fwiw, DDS was at practice yesterday and at this point seems to be playing the bowl game. There will be opt outs but perhaps less than we think.

Well, Terry's role will be as Head Coach.
I would expect most all the NFL potential Seniors to opt-out. (Maybe some play for Terry) Not sure about healthy underclassmen looking at transferring. With the current situation, I don't really see may kids practicing and last minute opt-outs.

Just a wandering thought but I can't help but think a player like Liam Andrews made a mistake wanting to play DT. I always thought he would have been a good OT. Too bad because he has barely played at DT.

Thats what I meant about Terry role, would he get kids to play since he is the HC for the game

I wouldn't be shocked if both our RB's and Pena opt in for one last hurrah in a Blue and White Uni. Be true to your school.

I know I am not in the correct era, but I would hope that no players opt out. It was a disappointing season for everyone, but it is one last chance to suit up with you "brothers."
Already had one definite opt out (DT Durant) and I expect more to follow. I do hope they decide now so those who are playing will get the practice reps.

I don't understand why they WOULD not play! They are NOT getting drafted and will not play in the NFL. All three had very mediocre seasons and IMHO, were disappointments. Ross and Pena had moments, however, they don't have the size and speed to play on the next level. Fisher and Ford are playing their last football games too. Both kids played decent football but never were impactful to the point of thinking about the next level.

Oh wait…he opted out after the Oregon game.

I would like to see them all opt out and just put this season to rest.
The practices leading up to the bowl and the game itself give CMC a chance to scout his own roster and see not only what can be seen on field, but to also judge things like work ethic, teachability, unselfishness and such. That is the real value of playing in the game for a new coach learning about his roster even if he isn't actually coaching the team during the game itself.

I’m guessing the number of Clemson opt-outs might be comparable.

So why why don’t we just call it “The Blue Orange Game”?????

Winner gets steaks for dinner, the loser gets franks and beans. We all get in free!

I would like to see the young running backs and really all the young guy who will return. I expect Allen and Singleton not to play and many of the seniors. The game is a scrimmage so the most value is getting a chance to watch players who will be part of thec team moving forward.

You can't be serious. Allen & Singleton will both be drafted. Allen probably gets selected in the 2nd round, I think Nick in later rounds. Nick lacks vision as a RB but I think a smart team might try him in the slot.
Parker Washington is not a speed guy and he is doing well in the NFL. Pena might surprise and make someone's roster as will Ross.

Every year we have about a half dozen players who think they will get drafted and opt out of the bowl game. Some forego another year of eligibility thinking they'll get drafted. They need to wake up. These marginally draftable players would benefit by returning for another year of development. If they have exhausted their eligibility they would probably benefit by playing another game to put something good on tape for scouts. In either case, I have lost all interest in attending a bowl game. If the payers are not committed to the program, why should I be? I liked Franklin. However, my biggest gripe against him is that he created a "me first" attitude within the team. The team was disfunctional - they played for their own personal stats, not as a team.

What? Did he enter the portal? Where might he be going - OSU? HUGE loss if true.
Yeah, I don't think we know anything about Coleman or we would have heard about it. Campbell may be meeting with him now. He has to be one of the highest priorities to retain. Also, Granville is a must keep on the DLine.

Not sure why anyone would spend a lot of time and money to attend these Bowl games. If I lived in the NY metro area or was already planning to visit NYC for the holidays then I probably would attend. Beyond that it doesn't make sense.

Given our coaching change, this year is different than others regarding a lot of players. I do agree with you though, that in a typical season if there are players that are marginal in terms of draft worthy and can develop by staying another year then they should stay. It is their decision though, but I would hope Coach Campbell helps them understand the benefits of staying with the program more than it seemed Franklin did.

This year, the game outcome is secondary to the prep time and actual game play.

I almost hope most of the seniors/players leaving early opt out. But it would also be nice to see some of them one last time.

Its also a good opportunity for the younger guys to show the new HC what they got. And on the flip side, Campbell also has an opportunity to evaluate next year's roster. Which will also help identify positions he needs to concentrate on in the portal.

I can see the draft eligible players can opt out. No reason for anyone else to drop out. No reason for anyone to transfer.

I wouldn't be completely shocked to see Singleton play in the bowl just because he didn't have the greatest season and it would give him one more chance to try to improve his draft stock. I don't think that would happen but it wouldn't be bizarre if it did.

No reason for Allen to play.

A redux of the Peach Bowl - with a lot of the soon to be departing guys "sticking around", but not playing any meaningful amount (if at all) would not be a surprise. IMO.

I never said Allen and Singleton would not get drafted. I specifically said the three receivers, Fisher and Ford. I expect both Allen and Singleton to go no later than the third or fourth round.
