From what I am hearing from friends and local news, there is construction at Newark Airport which is making the situation worseThe terminals have been modernized. The infrastructure seems to be another story.
Here's a little tidbit, if not already known. PHILLY TRACON controls arrivals and departures out of EWR, not New York.Seems every day some system keeps going down.
One of the runways is closed (under reconstruction). Additionally, there have been technical and labor issues with the air traffic control system. From what I have been told radar approach for Newark is controlled by the unit in Philly. I don't think it is unusual for radar approach for several major airports being controlled by a regional unit. Unfortunately fir a few hours one day last week that radar unit had operational issues. Most of what is going on is out of control of the airlines. From what I am hearing from friends and local news, there is construction at Newark Airport which is making the situation worse
