Great poll Cali! But, even though my votes fell into the majority, I was truly impressed with everyone...for different reasons.

For example, Connor did an impressive job of beating OU's highest ranked opponent on the mat while subbing for Barr. And, I am impressed with Cole's first start beating a much heavier opponent. And, I can go on...

Lots of great options to pick from. I'd also add the coaching & training staff's performance to that list. They're the best in the biz. I loved hearing the coach yelling at Connor to get another takedown at the end. I think it was Cody who really pushed Connor to get that final takedown. Other than Casey reacting to a bad call, I don't recall hearing the coaches being that vocal, and I really liked hearing it!

Dan Monthly always deserves a pat on the back. When Levi went down hard, I was a little concerned & shocked for a moment, but then Dan came out & worked his magic. Levi came back to the mat & put on a show. That was the sweetest bow & arrow we've seen in years! I hope we get to see a lot more of those this year!

All the guys looked great but unfortunately we only saw 2 ranked opponent at 197/HWT.

Seems like a theme. We schedule a new opponent. That opponent shows up with no one. Last year was Wyoming (no Volk or Novak). This year no Jordan, Giofree, Hippolito or Soldano and Wells

And no..I don’t think anyone was ducking. All these guys MFF out of last weeks tourney.

Just kind sucks as we miss out on early season tests.

The only critiques I can give are Nagao to clean it up and Cole to get to his offense a little more. That being said. Nagao first match in 2 yrs and Cole still learning to wrestle the big boys. Happy with the effort

Connor Mirasola is the correct answer to this poll as he knocked off a legit opponent on dominant fashion

I went with Blaze and Rocco but I want to shout out Sealey. Not a great start to the season last week but he was impressive last night. Obviously not the best opponent but getting a tech with 6 tds on the big stage was great to see

Left off the poll is the man we all count on!

Reportedly, PJ was given thre night off to help transition between Free and Folk.

Did we as a group give that courtesy to SlipperyPete, Nope!

Pete had to go from two, three minute periods to seven total (if needed). Did we give Pete a break between periods like in that other style, nope.

Did Pete get those individual 5 minute breaks that the Eastern European guys get when down by 9 points as they struggle to find the center of the mat. Nope.

Not one can of Cold spray was used and Pete often hits the bathroom breaks when they start shaking those cans.

When Levi went down I was scared as hell. I thought it didn't look good at all. Thought this would be a while, nope. I've seen mandatory 8 counts in boxing last longer than Levi was in Concussion Protocol. Both, Levi and Pete were ready to go!

So that is my vote, SlipperyPete, he answered the Folkstyle bell admirably.

I felt really good for Sealey. He was clearly struggling last season but he looked a lot better under the bright lights of BJC. Blaze surprised me with his skill on top. Welsh kinda put to rest the talk of his only winning close ones. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of bonus points from him this season. Would have liked to see him go against Soldano, though.

yes, they are a blessing. the okie head coach was about 2 yards from me, and it was constant verbal coaching for 10 matches. may have even told them when and how to breathe in and outo_O.

Great that Levi came back from what looked like "the dead". Shook it off and pinned the guy quickly.

Was tempted to go Sealey, because when your 3rd stringer can tech a D1 kid, that is worth something. He also showed that he’s been learning from Kasak with some of the filth he displayed. But I voted for Connor.

I was surprised, but very happy that Sealy stayed vs hitting the transfer portal. I was thrilled to see him have a great result last night. Definitely had a smile on my face after that match.
