And therefore, what is the B1G in basketball? The best basketball conference in the country? Hardly, and and where does that put NU. Some very foolish people are paying a BBall coach way too many millions to drag NU out of (or perhaps into) the doldrums. If these obscure schools can produce national caliber teams on a fairly regular basis, WTF, NU looks pretty stupid. If the Big 5 in Philly can produce national caliber teams, WhyTF can't NU?. Someone is not on the ball here.

Another Jesuit school....and their gym looks just like LUs old alumni gym......But I think this speaks to the style of play and to me NU has always been one step behind in the offense they run and the type of player they recruit. For awhile all the rage was tall lanky guys ...who could slip and slide around the 3 point line and occasionally get a mismatch inside....this seems to me what Coach Collins recruited recently...but now a little smaller, quicker guys can gaurd these guys......and teams like St. Peters run 4 or 5 of these guys who have multiple skill sets....handle the ball, shoot the 3 , get to the rim....play defense and rebound....I think for smaller schools this makes sense as their are a lot more of these types of players as oppossed to try and recruit a skilled 7 footer. And NUs guards other than Aduge are skinny....Some of the teams that are left Houston, Arkansas, St.Peters and others like Iowa St. are playing these multi-skilled guard/wing players....and again NU only really has 1 of these types of players,

And I think the issue with the B10 as a whole is that they still play big man basketball and it does not stand up to the more versatile offenses...Purdue had two dominant centers ! Illinois one of the best...

Yes. Big Ten typically has strong frontcourts and big physical, durable guards, who are a half step slow outside the conference.

Maybe the weightlifting hurts the shooting...

From the NYT: ‘Saint Peter’s …educates first generation strivers. About 48% of its 2,134 undergraduates are Latino; 18% are Black; and 8% are Asian. Students speak nearly 40 languages and come from families with a median income of $55,300.‘
