Sim captured it perfectly, but the best I've ever seen (and I can't remember his name) was the fellow who played him year after year at the Cabaret Supper Club at Ft. Sill. I played in the pit orchestra and he was magnificent. He brought the house down with his rendition of this, which is one of my favorite scenes in the musical. :)

Sim was all I had as a kid and he scared the crap outta me but you're correct, he nailed it.

Scott cracked me up as he barked out lines like a General trying to get the Spirit to come back and talk...

If any of you had been around me during Christmas since 2001, I would probably get your vote as the best Scrooge. None of the actors could ever hold a candle to me. I’m not proud of it, but it is what it is. I have a reason. But I wish all a great Christmas season.

Dude, did somebody piss on your carpet?

Although this one is animated, A Christmas Carol from 2009 it is very good. If you have not seen it here is a trailer. I did not think I would like it back in 2011 when I first saw it but now watch it every Christmas. Jim Carrey stars as Scrooge and it has a good cast of voice actors.

I liked this animated version too, as it followed the same storyline as the Alistar Sim 1951 version.
No longer a Jim Carrey fan since he’s become another mean spirited liberal jerk.

o_O Suggesting that an entire failed political experiment is mean-spirited is a bit harsh.

The musical was a young Albert Finney which would be my favorite (circa 1971). My second would be the George C. Scott version. Disney’s animated version with Jim Carey is actually closest to Dicken’s vision - which as I recall was universally panned by critics. Go figure.
