Benny Snell
Sonny Collins
George Adams
Moe Williams

He didn't have near the stats that these or many other UK backs had, but I'd like to give a mention to the late Doug Kotar. EVERYBODY needs a Doug Kotar on their roster.

Several to choose from, gotta go with George and Moe as my top two. I’ll throw in the Mark’s Bros, Logan and Higgs, since they haven’t been mentioned. Logan, Higgs, and Ivy Joe Hunter were a heck of a platoon back in the day.

Rafael Little should replace Benny on that original list, then i think we have it.

Benny was great, but crod played for the same coaches, same era, and was way better.

I love Little but you can’t put him on it over Snell imo. Snell is the all time leading rusher at UK.

Snell
Moe
Collins
Crod or Mark Higgs

That I've seen in my life?

Derrick Locke, Benny Snell, Boom Williams, and Rodriguez.

Could probably also add John "The Terminator" Conner in lieu of someone. Man was a wrecking ball with a hell of an NFL career. Fullback, not running back, but I'd rather try to tackle anyone else on my initial list than JC.

He is but only because crod had way fewer carries. Crod was a way better version of benny.

Little had massive amounts of all purpose yards and was completely unstoppable in space. He never gets the credit he deserves imo.

2007 was the first season I really truly remember. Maybe I was just too young and interested in other things... but I don't recall ever being super impressed with Little. Was he injured in 2007? I know he had huge expectations coming into his senior year based on his junior performance. I loved our receiving core, but never paid much mind to Little.

He was. Iirc that was the year locke broke out. He was 4th string and had to play by necessity and played well. Little eventually came back and was good, but still hobbled.

Was curious, so looked up all time rushing yards list, was a bit surprised to see Little at #5. Never would have guessed he was that high.

1. Snell
2. Collins
3. Crod
4. Moe
5. Little
6. Higgs
7. Adams
8. Locke
9. Boom
10. Pinner

That is with a sr season where he missed time and played hurt.

Also rushing numbers dont count his incredible punt return ability nor his elite receiving out of the backfield. He was elite in every sense of the word and gets forgotten because he was hobbled his sr year.

I need to rewatch games from 2006. The hype behind Little was so intense pre-season.

If Bowden had played RB his whole career he might have some insane numbers to show for it. He had 1468 yards on 185 carries in 2019.

No Artose Pinner???? Wow!
Marvin Hagler, my favorite fighter of all time. I went to a game at my old high school in the late 90’s-early 2000’s, they were playing Hopkinsville. All I remember was Pinner dragging guys all over the field and the PA announcer saying “First down run by Artose Pinner” again and again again. Followed by “Touchdown” Artose Pinner. He was a man amongst boys.

If you mean boom, Little was worlds better than boom. Not even in the same league.

Little is always overlooked on this board. I get it to a degree because he made it look so easy and its been a bit since he played; but he was incredible.

dabble in hyperbole much? CRod was WAY better than Benny and Boom not even in the same league as Little? CRod and Little were great, maybe a bit better than Boom and Benny but you are going overboard imo!

Little was great at catching out of the backfield but Anthony White actually has the most receptions ever of any RB at UK with 194.

Benny and crod were exactly the same style in the same period. Its an easy comparison. Crod averaged right at 1 ypc more than benny. Without suspension, crod breaks Benny's record with relative ease despite much lower carries. Benny was just way more charismatic, and that's what many remember most.

I think they both can be there, but one is clearly better than the other.

Boom vs Little is a bit tougher because they played in different eras and different systems. I think this is a closer argument for that reason, but Little could just do everything. He was an amazing receiver and even better punt returner.

Imo boom was actually disappointing. He had a surprisingly slow top end speed which caused him to get run down.

I actually think there is q good argument for aj rose being better than boom.

Hagler is my favorite fighter of all time and my sports hero. The human embodiment of perseverance and resolve. An amazing boxer and man.
