Mulcahy isn’t leaving and he’s not going to be shown the door. He’ll be back next year.
I expect Palmquest to stay but not play much.

He's on scholarship this year but wouldn't be eligible next year as a senior. Think walk-ons only get 2 years.
Hyatt should be mentioned in this thread. Might not transfer, might just be done with college after 5 years of it.
Cliff too - prob not a transfer but might not be back

I have thoughts brewing in my head on this, but feel the time to discuss names is once our season is over.
I thought scholarships for walk ons are just one year at a time

If Cliff leaves it’s a nightmare. He’s our MVP to me.
If Cliff leaves we would have to attract a high quality big man in the portal

If they get a Cam level transfer - which seems unlikely - that could be a plus
More likely they'd get a lesser transfer
Could we actually be better next year if we had a Rebraca type at center? Maybe.
I just don't have confidence we would attract a high level "5" transfer.

Is there a reason why? If Cliff leaves it’s likely for the G League. I’d think a track record of recent tournament appearances and developing Myles and Cliff, along with guaranteed significant minutes in the B1G, would put us in the running for any 5 in the country

Exactly. The best transfers are going to spots with starting roles available.

FWIW Cam was a 4 star highly regarded transfer and advanced metrics superstar
Harrar averaged a double double that year, albeit as the main contributor on a not great team.
Recruits are fictional characters until I see them in uniforms and they go over screens/hedge properly.

Certainly it is fair to expect Griffiths to be starting by January if he is going to live up to his rating.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet he starts game 1. I'd bet he starts on their trip this summer.
Adding another Cam or 4 and just playing an ultra small lineup with all Iowa level shooters wouldn’t be all bad TBH
I will admit that all I know of him is what I see on youtube but Baye Ndongo looks to me like a player that will get some minutes as a freshman
I agree, looks like a top 100 kid to me - playing at Putnam Sciences Academy must help too - lots of tough, physical, high-level opponents
