I think Houston Upsets Louisville tonight. Think it is time for the Ville to fall.

My brother lives in Houston, says that they have tons of injuries, and their offense has not been nearly as effective this year due to injuries and because opponents know what to expect now, and have had a year to game plan. I think Louisville wins as well . . . but will be avidly watching tonight hoping to be wrong. :sunglasses:

If they win it will be an upset but upsets have happened before. I would love to see UL go down but will not hold my breath.

It could be more interesting that it would appear on paper. Houston still has a very good offensive playcaller, and some really dynamic playmakers, specifically their QB.
The thing that I'll be watching the most is the Houston frosh NG vs the Louisville interior. He's statistically the best freshman in the country, and is much more talented than any player on the Louisville o-line. If he becomes really disruptive in the middle, it changes a huge dynamic as far as Jackson's openings to attack on the ground goes.

Ed Oliver is a problem...5* player out of HS...

As much as I want Houston to win, I'm thinking Louisville is pizzed.about the #5 CFP ranking and will come out guns blazing and try to blow this one wide open. If they get the chance they'll put 60-70 on Houston just to make a statement. And don't think twice that they won't try to pull a similar stunt with us. They need the beauty points to bolster their playoff hopes.

Houston has more or less mailed it in since finding out that Herman wouldn't be around after this season and suffering various injuries. They've gone from an outside shot at the CFP to losing to Navy and a sub-.500 SMU team.

There's a shot they may "rise to the occasion" so to say and give UL a game, but I certainly wouldn't bet on it (In fact, I'd lay it on UL given the circumstances).

Not that I'm upset about it because I'm not, but the shame for UL is that this was set to be a marquee matchup resume builder for the CFP. But instead Houston imploded....

I think Mrschrump is right, Houston has had too many key injuries and regardless of how good their NT is he isn't going to contain Jackson, heck a CB isn't going to corral him often. Easy ready, which ever way he slants Jackson goes the other and NT is out of the play.

I think Houston wins outright or gets blown out.
Would be surprised at any other result.
Most likely is Cards come out firing, get up big, and blow out Houston.

If Houston actually re-groups (tough w the injuries), plays the way they are capable of, could see Cards beginning to press and losing a close one. (they know a close win tonight will be seen almost as a loss to the CFB world)

Btw, though a HUGE Cat fan, I actually think the Cards are legit v good. Right there with the other top teams not named Alabama. Jackson is simply a difference maker. Take a v good team and makes them great. (just not Bama great - they are on a different level)

Only silver lining is Houston seems to play to their potential and then some in the biggest games (Louisville, Florida State last year--Oklahoma this year)

This game is a toss up. Houston is as healthy as they have been all season. Ward Jr a little banged up but he is close to 100%. Louisville really struggles with athletic good QB's. See Watson. I think Louisville wins a tight one but it won't do anything to help them in the eyes of the committee. No way they win this by more than a TD! No way!! 38-34

I was listening to a little sports radio today and heard someone mention injuries on Houston. If that's the case, I wouldn't worry too much.

As a Louisville fan that's more aware of your opponent, do you know of any key injuries on Houston? If I did hear that right, I can't imagine this one being very close. Wouldn't be surprised if you all go up by double digits early and keep it that way for the game. Houston is a good team but we've seen what UL can do when they are motivated. I.E. FSU.

From what I understand they are as healthy as they been all year...I been to the last two Louisville-Houston games and they were dog fights...maybe I'm jaded but feel the same will happen tonight

Houston has more talent than Kentucky and we are on the road and I mean this as no disrespect but pure talent they are good....we have you in Papa John's and UK has a bad history of containing mobile QB...Dobbs last week.

In some respects I hope Louisville wins based on the wild notion they may take UK for granted but in my heart I hope Louisville gets thrashed by 50 points
