Sean seems like a great guy that has fought through some adversity, yet has remained a top notch teammate. From a strictly playing basketball standpoint, if Duke is counting on him to play a role other than the one he has played the last 3 years ... Duke basketball will be in big time trouble!

He's a good guy and it sounds like he just got hurt. All the best no matter what he does

I almost locked it bc it's so preposterous but should provide some much needed humor for the board.

Now that is just insulting. This was a real question for those of us that may not totally be aware of Sean's condition. Furthermore, things change. Why wouldn't he play next year? Transfer? Get a 6th Year Red Shirt?

His basketball career, in all likelihood, is over. He has a chronic condition that simply isn't curable, unfortunately.

I actually thought it was a good question. I have seen him play very sparingly at Duke and recognized the knee issues, but felt like there could be rehab possibilities.

Wow I recall the day his transfer was announced. Folks were breaking out the confetti because of this beast of a freshman transfer from Rice!

Obi's knees became weak because K never gave him any PT. Damn that K! He knows nothing about developing bigs. Nothing! He never plays his bigs. Other bigs will see this and no longer commit to Duke. Then Duke will have no bigs sitting on the bench. None! The horror. The horror.

Be careful with that quote. Many actually believe that statement. If I'm 6'9, 270lbs, and a have a 7'3 wing span, 4 star player post player, why would I come to DUKE? Will I be the number #1 or 2# option? Is the offense of wings? When was the last Big to get chosen in the top 10 lottery? Who are the BIG coaches? Who gets showcased the most?

Real questions that kids and their support systems ask if they are 6'9 and 270lbs...

I think Obi stays and is an absolute banger in the post ala Luke Maye.

Hate to say this but Luke Maye isn't that bad of a role player.
I've given big luke maye a hard time as anyone but he seems to get what is ask of him done. Really good role player that I could see as a Dukie. This in know way means that I will not let up on him in his four years at the toilet. OFC

Since the thread is about Sean it would have been nice to see him have a chance to succeed at Duke. He had a pretty good year before transferring to Duke and Coach K saw something there that would help the program. Hope he gets that Duke degree and is very successful at what he chooses to do. Amen. My sentiments exactly! Wish him all the best. He was snake bit with injuries - I think he'd have actually been a contributor eventually.

But, he's had a great attitude and has been really supportive the past couple of years in spite of being in warmups and street clothes most of his time at Duke.

Wish him all the best.
