Eric Gray aka "The next Warren Moon.We signed one back in '94. Last name was Gray. Can't remember much more. He never played a down.
Eric Gray aka "The next Warren Moon.
Played Spring football and ended up leaving UK prior to ever playing a down for UK.
Those were the first 2 that came to mind, I had totally forgot about GrayFohr and McKay....sounds like a bad law firm.
Yep, he was supposed to be better than Pookie coming off of the Peach Bowl season. If he'd hit (along with Moe Williams) Curry years would have played out differently.
But he really, really didn't hit.

1800 yards passing for Gray in Juco. Didn't Johnson put up over 3,000 in 10 games?
With offenses being what they were then 1800 wasn't too bad, different era.
thought that Max Smith was a juco..
He was high school or prep, I believe.
Why was that ? Academics ?Dinky McKay was starting QB first year. But, was ineligible next year.
I think there was a running back that came in as a JUCO with him(maybe from the same school somewhere in Miss, Gulf Coast CC maybe) anyone remember him?I sort of posted that as a joke, can't believe any of you guys remember Dinky McKay. When did he play anyway, 1970 or 1972 or so? It had to have been in Stoll Field.
*****James "Dinky" McKay, that is a blast from the past. If I recall correctly he played in 72 John Ray's last year then got caught up in a cheating/testing scandal where a tutor was taking correspondence classes for him. Remember this was pre-Internet time so there were no online classes. The girl wanted more money didn't get it so she went to the "Kentucky Kernal" with her story. Cost Dinky his eligilability and the FB Academic advisor his job.
