Who will we miss most from last year's squad next season?

Who will we or who will you personally miss most from last year's squad?

Just as it says:

Not to be a downer, just more of a reflective moment. As we start to finish out our roster for next season, who will you miss the most?

Or who do you think we will miss the most player wise in the system? If you could wave a magic wand and bring back one of those guys, who would it be?

Hard choice for me personally, but I'm going with Brea. Dude was iffy defensively, but man, his shot was sooooo pure. And he just got better at making his own shot as the year went on. Liked his energy and even on off nights, he still kept shooting.

As crazy as it sounds, the player on that list that I think we could USE the most would be Williams. He was pretty valuable on nights he wanted to play hard. And we could use his size. I would say Brea, but he just never seemed to want to let it fly most nights. Carr, when healthy was a hell of a glue guy though.

for me, brea. going to miss them all, probably carr after that. brea started showing a mid range to end the season, and it was pretty to watch. he’s got the all around shooting game.

Butler and Brea for sure. Butler was such a great PG on both sides of the ball and Brea could single handily carry a game when he got hot. Grant Darby is a huge loss tho.

With what we have coming in if we could get one guy from this year back. I would take Williams. He improved so much. With him our interior would be nasty

Tough choice because our upcoming roster has an abundance of everything. Toss up between Butler, Brea and Williams for me.

Butler is my vote, that dude was just so tough and down for the team.

Amari with a 30% 3 would be one of the better and most unique players ever. He was just so big and good at everything but shooting.

Brea is actually a generational talent at shooting, we may go a decade and not see another quite of his level not just at Kentucky but in college at all.

Looking back what a unique team. Not to be negative about them but I never expected to win most games but they always did and suprised me every time. Ended up having a really good season. They obviously were good but I never wanted to give them credit and I’m guessing it’s because I had gotten so used to seeing Calaparis eye candy and top talent every year. I will miss every single one of these guys and they will always be Popes first team that had a ton of top 15 wins. Beat Duke and Zags which I had gotten used to getting beat by. Although championships are the goal at Kentucky, I’ll always have the memories of where I was and who I was watching the game with every time we beat dUKe.

But if I had to add one to this team it would be a healthy butler. He’s just dang good at basketball.

I'm honestly gonna miss them all. I think we're going to look back in the not to distant future and very much appreciate all these guys for catapulting us back into national title mixes when we were mired into the mediocrity of the end of Cals tenure here.

But if I had to pick one player it's Butler. Dudes a warrior and played through a lot of pain. Plus he was by far our best on ball defender.

You guys will probably laugh at this but Almonor. I voted Brea because we will miss his 3 ball for sure and Pope would have a hard time replacing that percentage he shot. I think Butler is a great player but we got ballers coming in. To my point, I think Almonor, with 1 more year, would be fun to watch. He progressed great last year and I’d love to see a continuance of that progression.

Butler was the most important piece on last year team on the choices given.

However, Amari was important for his versatility , Carr leadership , Brea shooting, AA accepting its role., JR for his heroics, etc….

That was a fun bunch!

All depends on JQ’s health. Without him we are weak at the 5 spot next year.

If you're talking about the player you will personally miss because you just liked them. Then Butler.

However, if you're talking about the player that would be most valuable to next season's team -- the answer is easily Jaxson. He has the most upside.

It's a tight toss-up between Bulter and Brea. Just so much value from those guys that this upcoming roster won't have at those positions. Whe you look at last year's squad, Pope squeezed the most juice out of that roster as possible. That's why I'm excited for the upcoming season. Excited to see what he can do with more talent.

Yeah, I agree about Brea. Carr not receiving much love, but when he played completely healthy, he was very good.

I'm going with Robinson. After he got hurt there was a huge drop off in the offense and UK never was the same.

I believe there will be times when I think Butler (defense), Brea (shooting), Carr (inside craftiness), and Williams (size and passing) could have helped us next year. I hope we’re crushing teams so badly that I don’t, however.

Butler with both arms working leads us past UT and maybe gets us to a Final Four.

Him playing with basically one arm to end the season was one of the gutsiest performances I can remember from a Wildcat in a long time.
I voted Butler....until I know for sure Lowe's shooting is due to broken finger, etc... Lowe's stats look like a huge dropoff in production from Butler...and his defensive rep isn't so hot.

I got two different answers based on context.

Who am I going to personally miss seeing on the team - Butler... Brea would be my 2nd option here.
Who would have helped us the most this season - Robinson

The only other individual performance as gutsy that I can think of was Joe Crawford willing Kentucky to a close win on the road at Georgia. He was so beat up he could hardly walk and yet he was out there draining threes or finding an open teammate when it mattered.

I think it will be Jaxson Robinson. Someone who can both penetrate and put in a high volume of threes with good efficiency against upper level Power Five defenses, as well as defend a little bit for his part. I’m hopeful we can grow someone into that. But we don’t have someone who’s already done it and that’s what JR was for us last season: someone who could do that and we knew it because he’d already done it.

Lamont Butler is not a guy you’re almost ever going to be able to replace one for one. But the critical things he did for us last year, we have done a great job of replacing them by committee at least on paper. So I don’t think we’ll miss him as much as we still stand to miss Jaxson Robinson.

Imagine how lethal Brea would be with this roster……👀, knocking down spot up 3s every game.

Don't think it's crazy at all to say Williams. He came on so strong late in the season and was a beast for us out there. Just wish we had him for one more year as he was really developing into a strong big man.
