Arnold is hard to beat, but I have another honorable mention to add:

Did the Duke get cancelled? He was in over 170 films, almost all action movies.

Nic Cage gets a nod... The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air..

But it has to be Arnold. Maybe not THE best action movie. But hes had the most great action movies. And he kept his physique in tune with being an action star. You can believe he'd be able to do some of the bad-*** things he did.

One of my favorites of his, and maybe my most underrated action film: Last Action Hero.

Wait. How is that a diss?
Can’t figure out what to do with you Ed. Nobody likes you, or your opinions. You’re obnoxious, self entitled, arrogant, and, to be honest, you stink. But I do believe you are a UK fan, and we have some of those, it’s called the cull pen. Buyers sometimes feel obligated to help the needy. Bless em. If not for them, culling would be, as Biden might say, ..... nah, can’t do it. Best of luck, j4.

Hard to argue it isn't Arnold.

I would put Cruise second. He has some entertaining movies. Keanu would be on my list and probably 3rd alone for Jack Wick series.

No Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnon or Sean Connery? Where are all the Bond fans here?

And just to tick off Glenn who apparently hates women, based on some of his recent post, I am going to give a shoutout to Linda Hamilton and Milla Jovovich.

John Wayne was not an "action" star. If he was an action star, then so was Wilford Brimley.

Too many to list, but here are my fav's....
Cruise
Stallone
Ford
Reeves

I'd have to go with Sylvester Stallone with the slight edge, even though Arnold was the first that came to mind for the list of movies that fall into my wheelhouse:

Rocky series
Rambo series
Cobra
Cliffhanger
Judge Dredd
Tango and Cash
Demolition Man

Is Rocky an action movie though? I'm not too sure.

But even if we remove that, we can add the Expendables. Those belong to Sly more than anyone else.

I'd say Stallone is a shoe in for top3. He also, kept his body in peak form, and for me, that adds something. Same reason I deduct points for Tom Cruise.. he's 5'7.

Had to vote for Arnold.

My personal favorite action star is Chow Yun Fat, though. Those movies he made with John Woo back in the day were amazing. Hard Boiled is still my favorite action flick of all time.

I know, I was waffling about Rocky, maybe on the edge with action/drama. Tom Cruise is a tough one though, he had alot of great action movies, but that 5'7 does stick out, how do you overlook that?

Yeah, he's a bit too much of a pretty-boy to make my top 5 list.

It has to be Arnold, Stallone, Willis.. after that it gets a bit dicier. People that are in the top10, somewhere. Jackie Chan, Clint Eastwood, and I'm throwing Kurt Russell in there.

For new age, I almost think you have to put The Rock in there, just on sheer volume and AAA work.
