Probably because coaches fretting over lack of front 7 depth and continued tackling problems doesn't leave one with warm and fuzzy feelings.
You ever hear a coach come out and say "We're outstanding. No need for improvement. None at all. We may go undefeated."?

But you're one of the biggest storm cloud pumpers on this board, so I don't know why you're suddenly so concerned about negative stories.
We do. Doesn't mean it can't be a pretty good season, but anyone shrugging off Meant's injury, for example, has no clue about this sport
I think that should be heard in the context of they have their starters settled & talk is about who the best 2's are.
LB depth is not an issue. It's figuring out who best to play with all the inexperience. We're 3 deep in scholarship players out all 4 LB spots including the quasi DE spot.
Unfortunately. despite our wishes, this is generally the way things are.
UK football has to improve the play on the field before others say something nice.

-don't see the point of wallowing in the past. There is no honor/merit in being "real" in this instance...be a fan or don't. Constant naysayers are self indulgent drama queens.

If folks listen very carefully to Stoops and Gran, they are telling it like it is. They are brutally honest. I like that. The first team defense is solid and after that there are issues. Fact. No sugar coating it. The offense however is full of positives and good things and if one can't find good news in how the offense is progressing then you're either not listening or not really a fan of the program.
Here is Stoops post scrimmage press conference. If you try really hard and are objective you'll hear some positives. Hearing the coaches is much more valuable than reading headlines. The purpose of headlines is to get you to read.
