Why aren't movie theaters open until July 3?

At least in Louisville. I would think that especially with the stadium seating, it would be the easiest thing to set up for social distancing. They were allowed to be open a month ago.

Is that really it? I would have thought it would effect a year from now. There were plenty of movies ready for release before this started.

I have a good friend who is a regional manager for Cinemark and that’s what he told me. That, and they had to do a lot of work and training to get ready to reopen once they got word they could.

The rest of them have scrapped their releases bc ticket sales will be lower. I knkw Christopher Nolan is releasing one anyway.

TV is going to hurt too. I was watching season 5 of billions and the season abruptly stopped after 6 episodes two weeks ago. Didn't realize they filmed and released the show that quick

I feel better about the leadership of our movie theaters. I was thinking it was keeping up with guidelines they weren't figuring out.

I actually took my mom out last week and went to the drive-in to see Jaws. I'd forgotten how much I like the atmosphere at a drive in. You can sit there and drink beer and people are far enough away that you can still talk.

I couldn't stand going back to the drive in. To freaking hot and hated to keep starting my car to get some air. Plus it just isn't that comfortable to sit in your car looking through the windshield for 2 hours. I tried to make it through a double feature but couldn't. Only advantage is bringing in cheap food. Stadium seating with recliners, giant screens, and Dolby Surround Sound (whichever version it is now) is to hard to beat.

And Tenet keeps getting pushed back at that.

I wasn't sitting in my car. Chair in a bag and a transistor radio and beer. It's a drive in so it doesn't even start until 9:30 so it isn't hot.

I'm cold natured and the last time I went it was probably still in the 80's when the movie started. I just prefer the theater environment these days.
