Why not Loyola?

Loyola's game today with Norfolk State has been postponed. Unless the Ramblers have COVID issues, how about a game with them after Christmas since both teams have missed a game? Loyola hasn't played since Dec. 10 and their next game is Jan. 2. Northwestern says it wants to schedule a game to replace DePaul, why not one with Loyola? It would be a great draw in a week that most people have off. Maybe we could promise to play them at Gentile Center next year (since DePaul presumably would now have to come to Welsh-Ryan next year).

While it might make sense, not sure there is anything to gain in our quest for the dance by playing them. Very good mid major that would work against us if we lose and not gain much if we win. There is a reason why they are not on anyone's schedule

I think Loyola beat Depaul already earlier this season. If we beat Loyola, it would look good imo. Loyola is a really good team. They almost beat msu in a tourney this season too if I recall correctly

C’mon, we all know Collins hates playing anyone with a pulse during the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Oops, that kinda derails my idea. Didn't realize it was Loyola that caused the cancelation. I don't think a game like that works once we start the BIG season.

Almost as bad as some of Nick Saban’s OOC opponents over the years.
A great point. More proof that the football regular season is too long by at least 1 game. The only reason that the season went from 10 to 11 to 12 games is $$$$s. The school administrations want the TV bucks and could care less about the wear and tear on the athletes. So schools schedule a patsy so that they can rest starters much of the game. Just shows the corruption of big time college football in such of profit over the welfare of the athletes.

Money is absolutely a factor. As an athlete, though, I always loved playing the games. If I could play 2 extra games I would have signed up in a minute.

word is that everyone is back practicing......and LU was looking at the Davidson game (also cancelled) as their last chance to play a Q1 team....The latest Kenpom has LU at 26 and NU at 36. Would be great for the Chicago sports fan.....The game against DePaul had some electricity ...for me it would be tough to watch.
