Have to say that I've been on this board for a couple of months and the attitude is poor. Most posts are negative toward the coaches or players. Not everyone but more than not seem to really dislike the program as a whole.
Really bothers me that people take the time to type these posts. If it were me I'd spend that time supporting another program. Just calling it like I see it.

Get ready to get blasted. And you better have about 20 season tickets or it will be worse.

Many of the negative posts are from Tard trolls, pretending to be UK fans. Some are from disgruntled UK fans, but many aren't.

I agree, but, it's hard to fault fans for being negative. We're in consecutive year number 6 of piss poor football. No other way to describe it. We've seen 2 consecutive years toy with our emotions with fast starts followed by even quicker declines. Sometimes it's hard to see the sun. The fact that the fans are still here arguing, calling for more and filling the seats is a testament to their fortitude and loyalty, though. Gotta see both sides of that coin.

Exactly. There has not been much positive to report football wise the last couple months.

I personally what a winner soooo bad that it hurts. It just hard to read all the negative post. Most don't even start that way but end up there.

Looks like solid hires but who knows. I think we'll be a better team next year but the record might not show it. It think faith is half the battle.
I have faith in the program so I'm half way home.

You say you've been on this board for a couple months. That's not nearly enough time to figure things out. Things are not good but UK fans try to hang I there with hopes we'll improve. You'll learn.

How long have you been following the FB Cats? The demographics of this board must be skewed to the Geritol set because I can't count the number of guys who are "50-yr" fans, as if that conveys some sort of magical insight into the ways of UK FB.

Anyway, when a season ends the way UK's did here in 2015, you can't expect an abundance of positivity. And if you do attempt to say something positive, a faction of posters will pounce on you as a sunshine pumper. There are indeed some unhappy campers on this board. Just use the Ignore button as often as needed to tune out the bad vibes.

Don't get discouraged and please continue posting.

On the board for a short time, fan since my dad took me to watch Mark Higgs, Mark Logan and Ivy Joe. As good as the bb program is, I'm a Wildcat football fan first. Yes it's kind of lonely
and weird at the same time.

I got hooked as a 12-yr old during the 1977 season, and I was in school at UK during the days of Higgs, Logan, and Hunter. Of course I didn't know at the time that the '77 season would be the high-water mark for UK FB. But - hope springs eternal. I always swear off the Blue Kool Aid when the season's over but when fall camp rolls around I start hoping and believing that UK will make a bowl game.

Yeah, I've had that faith since Couch. Very seldom does it pay off for UKFB fans. It comes in short flashes and dies a cold death in Nashville when James Whalen rips his elbow out of socket and Hal lets 'Cuse walk into the end zone just to get the ball back and try to score again... It dies in the hands of Channing Crowder, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It dies in an LSU 82-yard hail mary as time expires and UK is rushing the field. It dies a lot.

But, even with our rocky history, we've been in a serious funk as of late. Seems UK can't catch a break since 2009.

But, things are never as good as they seem or as bad as they seem. Every team that UK lost to this season, sans Vandy, went to a bowl game. We can talk about a weak SECE, but we're still weaker than they are. Even the teams we beat were in a down year and we were a bad bounce from losing every single game we won outside of Charlotte. Even Vandy. Vandy is riding on it's high recruiting classes under Franklin. Those guys were Jr's and Sr's this year and while not top SEC talent, they're still better now than UK's talented youth. SECE might be down, but those teams that beat us are still better than us- either from a talent standpoint, depth standpoint, coaching standpoint, etc.- and if not better, close enough to equal to be able to capitalize on our shortcomings and beat us.

Gonna need a lot of faith to see this thru. Some folk just don't have the patience. Don't hate on em too bad. They just want better and are tired of waiting.

5 weeks after the season and secure in the position that stoops is here for 2 more years... all the negative post come off as children throwing a temper tantrum. think how rational it is to want to destroy the best recruiting class in school history just a month before signing day when you're not gonna get a coaching change.

if you've lost faith and want out i get that, but then leave. it's like my ex gf wanted to break up and said she'd move out in a month... if you are broke up you're leaving first thing in the morning or it's just misery for everyone. your **** is in the driveway come and get it before it rains!!!

When a program performs well, they deserve praise. And they get praise. When a program performs poorly, they deserve negativity. So they get negativity. Basic math (a joke btw) Just calling it how I see it. Why pretend we've been doing great things when we haven't?

UK's football program is like Groundhog Day except the days never seem to get better. Fans are frustrated, tired of losing, and this is a place to vent. Start winning games and fans will start buying back into what Stoops is selling.

or if they are, they say something incredibly stupid, like Gran was named head coach in waiting like Joker

Still can't get over that pile from one of the typical negative mangoes

Great thread agree completely about the awful bad attitudes around here. Get over the disappointing season and look to the future, or if that is impossible leave and front run on Raftards.

The negative posts will disappear when the program heads in the right direction. Does this mean winning games? To a point, yes. Get the program to the point that it wins the games is it should; occasionally wins a game it probably shouldn't; and always competes well with the top teams on the schedule and then you will see the posts start to change. Unfortunately, I see nothing in the reasonably near future to make me think any significant changes have been made or will be made to get the program heading in the right direction. Next season will be very ugly, probably worse than the one just completed. Recruiting continues to flounder leaving UK at or near the bottom of the SEC in talent and we all know that the coaching has been very subpar. Until the coaching and recruiting are brought up to acceptable levels, UK will still be a failure and the negative posts will abound.

What a crock of crap. With fans like this negativity will go on past our Championship years! We are not were we want to be but to post there have been no significant changes made is ludicrous. I'm sorry but this post lacks so much understanding about college football it boggles the mind and darkens the heart. Geez it would not even be worth the effort to point out the extent to which this take is down right goofy.

Dan, stick around for a season cycle. It's a hoot, particularly on the Lair.

Right now, very negative. We had a losing season.

Around signing day....... Attitude gets better. Common quotes:"Our class is under ranked", "(fill in the blank) is going to help us this year", "so and so should be a four star, watch his tape" "so and so only has offers from (fill in the blank)" " Stoops can't recruit"
Around spring game ..."hearing great things in 7 on 7, (fill in the blank) runs a sub 4.4." Gran's new approach is great" "we are killing EKU in 7 on 7"
Spring Game ..... "(un named backup QB) looks great should be the starter", Offense (or defense) looks great so our Defense (or offense) really sucks" "Our DL looks great, no it doesn't, YES it does, NO it doesn't"
After spring game...... "8 wins", "we're gonna win in the swamp", "we are beating UT this year, write it down"
Fall Camp....... " 9 wins" "could we win SEC East this year?" "This is the season" "We'll start 4-0, 5-0, etc."
After first SEC win "Bowl bound" "Might run the table" "Bama is over rated"
After second loss "next game is biggest game in history of UK FB" "Make or break for Stoops" "Gran bad hire"

i bet you get the picture.

Enjoy the ride. It's football season on a message board. Watch for UKEric and his weekly predictions once the season starts. Always well written and interesting.

For years, tailgating has been the best part of the UK football experience for me.

We have a blast cooking, drinking and playing cornhole.
Then, just when you're starting to have fun, you gotta pack everything up
and go in to the stinking football game.

I'm only kidding about that, but you know what I mean.
We've all gotten used to the same old Kentucky football.

But I'll be back. I just hope to see a real, SEC caliber team in my lifetime...

There is nothing" magical" about the insight of watching UK football for 50+ years it just means that there isn't a whole hell of a lot we haven't seen before, when something really new comes along we will be among the first to notice it.

The other thing those 50+ years do is make us more likely to tell it like it is and be able to back that up with living the history of the program.

It's the nature of internet message boards, especially when paired with a historically awful football program. Rarely a shortage of things to be critical of, and upset over. There's a lot of positive here to though. Just depends on which one you choose to pay attention to. Look at it this way, at least we have fans who care. There are boards dedicated to programs which are much more successful, or have been in the past, yet don't have the number of participants or discussions this board does. I'm concerned going into Stoop's 4th season, but I'm still hopeful he and this team can make another step forward this fall. Going to be a tough schedule, but then when your in the SEC that's hardly unusual.
