Will Dustin Johnson recover from his collapse at US Open?

Not his only 'just miss' at a major but yesterday was just brutal. No matter how many times he tells himself to forget it and get over it, he won't be able to for a long, long time. He's got plenty of game, although his short putting is horrible in comparison to other pros. He should have probably already have a major or two. Then this. Not as bad as Norman's collapse at Augusta but damn close. No guarantee Spieth doesn't school him in an 18 hole playoff but absolutely no excuse to run the first putt by the hole by 4 feet. I understand the greens were ice and bumpy, but Spieth had a similar length putt on the same hole and had a 6-inch tap-in. Think DJ is a pretty good dude. Hate to see him crater mentally after such a heartbreaker.

What happened to him at Whistling Straits was worse than this, IMO. He won that tournament but it was taken away because PGA officials let fans stand in "bunkers" and other places that would be considered inside the ropes anywhere else. He came back from that.

He's got more money than he can ever spend. Apparently has more off-course fun than anyone in history. He played 10x better this week than anyone else tee-to-green. He put on an unequaled driving exhibition and only missed 2-3 iron shots all weekend. I'd say 99% of the putts he missed were good putts that just didn't go in.

DJ's first putt was >>>>> harder than Spieth's first putt. His second putt under the circumstances (crusty greens, enormous pressure) was no bargain, either.

He will be fine. Has a life most men would kill to have minus his cocaine addiction and not being very smart in general. Great athletic ability that has translated very well on the golf course. Not feeling sorry for him. He just needs to work on his putting stroke line on the shorter putts.

I don't know about his putting stroke but he misread left a foot and left/lip on the two putts. His putting stroke looked fine to me. Just looked like misreads.

he reminds me of PM... does all the right things but his putter isn't his friend every day... it's golf... forget about it and move on... only way anyone can play the game... his real problem isn't his putter... the longer he stays clean the better he will allow himself to become... he'll be just fine long as he stays clean... that's his real challenge.

Depends on what you mean by 'recover'. Play golf, rail a hot piece of *** and be filthy rich? Yeah, he'll do that. He might have picked a bad time to be born though because right now, there are two contemporaries who seem to be much better than he is. Call it the Sergio effect.

I got him scheduled for one major. Doubt he gets multiples (like he should).

He has no clue about anything, basically just likes to disagree with EVERYTHING; just follow his Twitter or read his IC posts.

It's pretty sad & pathetic. If you'd posted DJ would never win, he'd have taken the complete opposite stance...what a loser.
