Willis Carrier deserves his own national holiday

One of the greatest heroes in human history -- the father of modern air conditioning. Personally, I'd give up almost anything before AC.

A/C is an essential requirement for living the good life. I grew up without it. Didn’t live in a place that had A/C until I was in my late 20s. Would never, ever, ever go back. I’m all in on giving Mr Carrier an official holiday. I’d celebrate by not leaving my air conditioned home.

Back when i was at my brokest I had a car with no AC and my drivers side window wouldn't go down. That was a fun summer.

If you ever want to see how important A/C is, try working in a large chemical plant when the HVAC for an electrical/PLC room goes kaput in the summer. It doesn't take long for those rooms to reach over 100 degrees and when it gets up around 120, stuff starts to shut down.
