Wishing everyone to be safe if you are in this mess. We are supposed to get 12-18 inches where I live in Richmond and 18-24 where I coach..if you know anything about Va our roads will be terrible and the city crippled. Richmonders are rediculous at the sight of a snowflake...it's quite funny and also dangerous.

Luckily I'm a PA boy no big deal but you have to be careful of the others around you. Looking forward to playing with my kiddos today and tomorrow as I have not had a day off since New Years Day.

I hope everyone stays safe and has fun!

Going to be very treacherous around Raleigh for the game. Hope the teams and fans are safe. When did they start naming winter storms, anyway?

People in Raleigh who can't drive on a normal day shouldn't venture out in this to go to the game. There may be a lot of tractors at the game. What area of Raleigh Will?

I'm not from Raleigh. I just know what ice storms can do, based on my Durham experience. Right now I'm getting ready for 4-8 on Long Island, with coastal flooding.

Supposed to be 18-24 by the end of Saturday in VA where I live. It is coming down now, we already have several inches.

Gotcha. Yeah Durham and Raleigh are identical with the drivers. My experience comes from driving a fire truck in this mess. Easier to stop my car than a 50,000 lb. truck. Stay safe up there.

I looked it up on the web and read that the National Weather Service started naming major winter storms in 2012-13 because its easier to communicate about the storms when they have names. I assume the same reason they name tropical storms.

Makes sense to me.

Pisgah, you're in the NC mountains aren't you? What's it like up there? Only 2-4" of ice and snow here in upstate SC, just south of Charlotte.

I am. And I live up on a mountain. We're pushing a foot now and it's still coming down. They said another band will come through tonight and we can expect 4-5 in more so I'll measure Tomm and put a definite amount.. As long as the power stays on I'm okay with it for now!

Yea my daughter is a senior at App St. She came home last night ahead of the storm thank goodness. Be safe up there!

In the midst of the snowstorm hitting DC, these MEN are still guarding the tomb. These are true role models. They'll never leave no matter the conditions they're faced with.

Now that is awesome! My son is 10 and is sold out for the military. All he talks about is being a Navy Seal. We are pro-military in my family. Thank you for raising such an amazing son. Thank you for your sacrifices you've made and thank him for his services from my family.

Gettin' pounded here on Long Island, but we still have electricity so I don't have to fire up the generator to watch Duke at 2pm. How's everyone else making out?

I consider myself very fortunate to be here in Central Ohio right now. We have very little snow right now and it's not really that cold. I hope that all my new Duke buddies and your families down there stay safe and warm, I have seen and been in the weather that you are facing, and it is very dangerous. Please don't take anything for granted, these storms can kill. God bless you and your families!

We didn't get much where I live, but they got several inches southeast of us. Not even close to what's happening there. I really worry about people when I see all the snow and ice, so I just hope you will all be safe and take care of your loved ones. You are all in my thoughts, God Bless.

Yes sir right now. It's blown snow all day deff over a foot.. And COLD like under 20 all day long. Looks like I'll be sitting here till mon for sure. I'm about to go stir crazy already lol
