The media is ripping the NCAA before they even do it. Watch this week the talk will be be how unfair to Wisconsin that would be and how bad for college basketball. I have no fear of Wisconsin but it would be a travesty for them.

Matt jones just tweeted this

NCAA Selection Committee Chair basically just confirmed that geography will be focus of bracket. If true, means Wisconsin as UK's two seed

If Wisconsin wins the Big 10 Tourney, they'd have a 31-3 record with losses against Duke, @ Maryland, and a fluke loss against Rutgers in a game where Jackson went down and Kaminsky was missing.

No way would a 2 loss Villanova team be justified in earning that last 2 seed, and the same goes for Arizona, which has a trio of terrible losses on its resume.

LOL at Goffy Gottlieb begging for it not to happen...because he is a Wisconsin guy as far as liking their team. He has no love for UK and would love to see us get screwed, but does not want it at the expense of Wisconsin.

The ACC is not getting 2 #1 seeds. Unless Virginia wins the ACC tournament they will fall to a 2. If they win the ACC tournament Duke will fall to a 2.

The best part about Wisconsin as our #2 will be identifying the real haters in the sports media world. Anybody that picks Wisc coming out of that region is obviously blinded by agenda. No other logical explanation and you know it is going to happen a lot..

Nobody is scared of Wisconsin. We beat them last year and didn't have WCS, TL, KAT, DB, TU, but that's not the point here the point is we shouldn't have to play the strongest 2 seed. We have earned the right just like they do every other time unless KY is on top then they change it up how ever they want to. That's my point. We should have to play the weakest 2,3, etc.

No fear of Wisconsin, but if you can get a better and more fair path to the championship, you want it.

The 5-6 Wisconsin threads on the first page of RR makes me think otherwise.

This. You can really tell the posters who do not have a clue by posting that UK and its fans "fear" Wisconsin.

No offense to those people, but pay attention. The top 1 seed should not get the top 2 ever. Plus, they can give UK the top 4, 5, and 8/9 seeds due to geography as well.

I'll be honest about it, Wisconsin can absolutely beat this UK team. I don't think the other potential 2 seeds can.

Hence the redass.

I think most UK fans respect their team because they went 15 rounds with UK last year and are probably the third best team in the nation behind Kentucky and Duke.

To avoid them in a regional final is more a sign of respect of what Wisconsin is capable of (probably one of four teams that will make UK play its best game to beat them) than it is unadulterated fear.

I'll agree with Arizona, though I do think they are a legit title contender, but have to disagree on Villanova. They're ranked 3rd and 4th, and likely more importantly are 3rd in the RPI ahead of both Duke and Virginia as well as Wisconsin despite some wins over the 150+. I think a 1 seed is theirs to lose which they will if they fail to win the BE tournament. What's ironic of course is they'd might be better off as a 2 in Syracuse vs a 1 in LA. If UVa loses to anyone but Duke, and maybe even then 'Nova could get the 1 in the East though.

Yep, anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been paying attention or is a blind homer. Wisconsin is legit. We'd steam roll the other 2's.

I still think Virginia ultimately falls to a 2 seed. They'll have a brutal road to win the ACC tournament, and they're not going to get a 1 over Duke/Nova/Wisconsin/Arizona (assuming they take care of business) if they lose 2 games in the last week of the season. I don't care how good they've been all year, what their RPI is, etc.

Kentucky/Villanova/Duke/Wisconsin is what I'm going with.

Sometimes I find myself holding a different opinion than Wild, but in this case I agree. Wisconsin plays a tempo where we have at times looked awful with half court sets in a slow pace. They have an experienced senior big man and LSU with less of a talented but experienced center caused us problems. Yes, of course I think Kentucky would beat them but the issue is what team could beat us and Wisconsin is one of them.

I think Virginia is an excellent team and although they lost to UL on the road they still are missing their key starting guard. But, it isn't easy to return to form being off this long if he can even play this season again. But, certainly at times their offense can be weak although they looked pretty good against UL in hitting outside shots. I don't see them beating Kentucky.

Gonzaga-please. Kansas-please.

Villanova? They could give us some problems because they play well as a team, good guard play, and perhaps a U. Conn type of approach. But, they have no big men that could compete with us and typically who controls the boards wins. So, would take a shock for them to win.

Duke- Yes if they are hot from the outside and get the Duke foul calls they could beat us. But, they have a number of weaknesses and they play uptempo where Kentucky is the best. So, unlikely.

Arizona- too much unknown but I think they would have to worry more about us than us about them.

Maybe UNC might be a challenge but we would have to be playing pretty poorly to lose. I don't see anyone else out there.

I just don't see Wisconsin getting a 2 seed at all. I think your one seeds will be Kentucky, either Duke or Virginia, Villanova and Wisconsin. Kentucky will be in the Midwest and get Gonzaga as the two. Wisconsin will be in the west and get Arizona as the two. Nova in the east with Virginia and Duke in the South with either Kansas or Maryland. I think we will then get Northern Iowa or Witchita St as our 3.
