I'm entering but pretending to go as a bargaining chip. Don't tell anyone.

Seriously, the roster is at 115. It may have to be 105 soon so it's somewhat expected that some will try. RB and OL may be positions where competition pushes some kids out of the program -- testament to the staff's recruiting.

Do you expect a flurry of PSU players entering the portal with Friday being the last Spring portal day?
The amount of players in the portal anymore is just plain crazy. Everyone agrees something needs to be done but it's got to have coaches pulling their hair out with kids moving on that they thought would never leave as well as back up players moving on. Not sure what the answer is maybe having 1 window to transfer rather than multiple windows.

The roster (115) is over the 105 cap, many will enter this week. Probably 12 -15 so they have room to pick up 2-3 if needed. Expect the walk on kids to either portal or just decide to not pursue football any longer, plus we have about 8 kicker/punter/LS and about 15 WR, Id count on a few from each of those groups.

With due apologies to LionJim, my crazy math indicates Penn State has 95 scholarship recruits on the current roster (including the transfer portal guys).

This number does not include the at least one-time walk-ons like Rulli, Mayer, Chizmar, Pryts, Kolin Dinkins, Parker, Meyer, Duzansky, or Nwosu.

If I'm correct (granted, a big if), then the Lions can keep all 8 of the players named above and still add a WR to make 105. It would seem that perhaps most "cuts" will be from former walk-ons.

How many players does PSU need to remove to get under the salary cap?

It will be fine in the "end". :)

My math friend says that whenever he is constipated or worries about PSU's roster situation, he somehow manages to work it out with a pencil.
