How awful:

"A 60-year-old woman jumped from the roof of her luxury Midtown building while holding her tiny lap dog Friday afternoon, leaving both dead, according to police and law enforcement sources."

PETA should be outraged & demanding a law against it.

Couple years ago, some homeless guy crossed IH-35 downtown on foot while leading his dog on a leash. Both were struck and killed by a motor vehicle. Speed limit is 60 MPH down there. Motorist was not speeding. Driver remained at accident scene until police arrived. No charges filed.

I hate sounding insensitive, but I actually felt far worse about the dog's death than the homeless person. This individual knew what he was doing. Poor dog simply followed his master.

The major difference is the dog didn't choose to jump off the damned roof. They trust us. That is messed up.
The woman did kill herself. That’s something that mentally ill people do. So I don’t think she was like, “ya know, this dog trusts me. Perhaps I shouldn’t jump with it.”
