She seems to know her place. Isn't kneeling a sign of respect? If you want to be a total ***** about it (Kapernick included) just keep warming up, listening to music, or walking around.

The best thing about this slit is that she's going out of her way to make a point in front of a crowd of dozens. As a wise man once said, "the bandwagon is full," Megan. Thanks for trying to make yourself a part of the story, though.

What form of silent, non-violent protest wouldn't offend people?
Personally, I'm not offended. Everyone has the right. I just find it tiresome and self-important and, in the case of a woman soccer player no one ever heard of in front of 40 people, laughable.

I put it in the same category as rich, ultra-privileged celebrities preaching to us middle and working class folk to embrace their agenda about helping the Sudanese or saving the earth or whatever. Do they have the right to be heard? Sure. Do they have any credibility? No. Is it tone deaf and annoying? Yes.

Athletes in general are selfish and stupid. Don't care what they do. Just play your game. This country makes mountains out of mole hills.

I agree, the athletes are doing it for the attention. But normal people in this country are selfish as well. I can't tell you how many people I know (and are related to) that are rara America and then go around and abuse social benefits like unemployement and well fare. Not that it should matter either, but in my family, this has exclusively happened on the white, republican side from the Midwest. Some of these folks are veterans as well.

I think as a nation, we are lacking civic pride. We have forgotten greatness is created, not inherited.

She did it to "keep the conversation going". What conversation? That Caepernick is a dumbass? Didn't think there was a conversation going, just people who generally agreed he is a talentless prick who sat to get attention, and since he will be sitting on the bench riding backup, decided to kneel, because that's the closest he'll get to taking a knee for the rest of his career. If she wanted to keep that conversation going, she's a true American heroine.

Also, props to Sean for getting that low angle shot of her with his drone. Of course, it was taken from behind because he's a creep and can't help himself. Still, had to be some skilled flying to get that close.

If these idiots need to protest police brutality, they need to also protest the actions of people that continuously put them at odds with the police. Funny how we always get told there needs to be a "dialogue" but by God there's only one group that's doing wrong and whaddya know, that's the police and whitey in general.

Kap has no problem with American money, just the anthem. Got it.

Is that a soccer game or Killary rally?

[banana]

This Blaine's backup thing is awesome to me. Some of the "anti PC" folks are pretty "triggered" right now.

I can't believe this complete non-story is still a hot topic. Are we gonna have to deal with 17 weeks of "Anthem Watch" before every Niners game? And what's next? Female lacrosse players sitting Indian style during the anthem.

It's symbolism by stupid athletes FFS. As a collective, we get worked up over the dumbest ish.

Exactly. Who cares what these numbskulls think? We watch them because they're athletically gifted, not because we value their introspective thinking and feelings on the current American paradoxes they perceive. Quit giving them spotlight by getting angry over it.

Plus, it's their RIGHT as an American to protest this and look like an a**hole.

Just read a facebook tirade about how athletes need to stand to show respect for our freedoms and liberty. :flushed:

It was from an older lady so I don't think it was trolling but, if it was, she's really good at it.

The butthurt from the anti-PC crowd over this Kaepernick bs has been probably one of the greatest things to watch all year.

I don't really see anyone being "butthurt" over it, just stating that it's annoying as **** why it even gets coverage because honestly who gives a ****...
Who gives a ****? Haha everyone evidently. Because it's non stop. All effin day. People from both sides. But the funniest ones are the "patriots" who are bombarding my social media with meme after meme. I thought they were supposed to be the ones who don't get offended by everything? They're worse than millennials.

well I guess I don't see all that ******** because I don't watch the news, don't watch ESPN, and rarely even log onto facebook or any other social media. Makes life much more enjoyable. Real people... real life... no one's ****ing talking about it because no one gives a **** what a football player thinks about anything political other than the "what was this I heard about Collin Kirkpatrick?... or what's his name? What are they talking about?" that a patient asks me. I always laugh and say it's not important because it's not.
It's not important. It's effin dumb as hell. But to act like people aren't losing their **** over it is also a little ridiculous. In case you haven't noticed, in 2016 a large portion of the people on earth communicate through some form of social media. But yeah real life. Why are we even discussing how dumb it is? Kill me. And kudos to you for going off the grid McCandless.

I love it. Because those people actually are easier to rile than those SJW idiots. (My facebook hobby is poking the bear on both sides. I get the righties for their awful grasp of English and the lefties for being whiny bitches.)

My favorite is when the "anti PCers" whine about victim culture, while playing the role of victim.

"It's hard to be a straight, white, Christian, male in America nowadays" (Eeyore voice, sad face)
