Less, this is the beginning of hard times, maybe not in immediate future but soon.

There’s a normalcy bias, people don’t realize how good we have it and had it and why.

Tribalism, China, greed in many different forms, people believe lies... lots of why there

We are in uncharted territories. So many countries having weapons of mass destruction serves as a deterrent against mass warfare, not necessarily a catalyst for end times. Strain on natural resources and prolonged economic depression could change that though.

People of the past have typically viewed technological growth and social change in dystopian fashion, but the last 100 years has seen an extraordinary growth in the quality of human life.

If we don’t blow ourselves up, it can continue.

The Covid may be a warning, though, that population density, especially in Asia, is a perpetual recipe for disaster.

Imagine there’s no countries. It isn’t hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for. And no religions, too. Imagine all the people living life in peace!

Peaceful.

I truly believe civil war happens again. Then people finally figure things out and learn to live with differences again. We begin to realize that the things we use to think are so damn important, mean very little in reality.

Of course, all this assumes we have better leadership at every level.

Tough call but overall I would say more peaceful - 1970 had us in a hot war in Vietnam and horrible relations with China and the USSR which were nuclear advocates funding and backing North Vietnam against us.

President Reagan ended the cold war in the 80s which to me was the most significant foreign policy event of my lifetime and elevated world peace. Today although Putin has stirred up trouble in the Ukraine and other areas, relations with Russia are still much better than 1970 with the former USSR and same for China, even though we are having a trade war of sort and friction in some parts of that region, by and large we have decent relations with them.

There is no peace in the Mideast but there isn't any fighting going on, and the major terrorist organizations, have retreated into their caves, at least temporarily.

Less peaceful.

Why? The rise of liberalism... gonna take a war to stop it.
