I'm going to try to give the World Series a chance since I haven't watched in forever. To bolster my interest, I'm going to bet on it. Problem is that I don't have a clue about baseball anymore so I'm going to leave it up to the Paddock. Who should I put my $50 on?

If gambling is a long term proposition, the odds say that the Astros would have to win this series more than 75%ish of the time to make them the correct pick. The Phillies only 25%ish. If they played this series 1,000 times how many would the Astros win?

As(s)tros will win because we can’t have nice stories in sports anymore. Harper will probably go 0-16 …

I guess, “technically” you would “win” those amounts but the way you wrote it they look way more favorable. Part of what you’re “collecting” is your original money back, so you didn’t win that money you just got it back.

Wow, I use to live and breathe baseball (even before UK basketball). Now, I didn't even know who was in the World Series until seeing this post.

Google search says Houston is -185, Phil is +150. I don't follow baseball as closely as I once did, but Houston has much the better team, at less than 2-1 odds, I would bet the favorite.
