Failed to get a shot off on thier last 4 possessions. Horrible outcome for Ralph on his last real chance. Doubt he can reload and make the title game before he steps away.

it's a MEH moment. Either one winning would've made me go meh at best, since Kentucky was out of it. The best team won. I picked a title game between Florida and Houston, and said florida would win. So another tournament my head aligned with what most of us thought would win.

Lotta people had the Gators this eyar. They had the look especially at the SEC tournament forward.

so grats to the Gators. It'll be interesting to see how they "reload" next year. Gonna be a lot necessary "reloading" for SEC teams next year.

we got plenty of bullets already ....

I'm just happy Houston knocked off Duke. I didn't care who won tonight between them and Florida.
Me, too. I guess I'm glad Florida won because now we can say, "Well, Coach Pope beat the national champions." But it's pretty clear that Kelvin Sampson is a very good basketball coach, and if Houston had won Sampson would have been the oldest coach ever to win the NCAA Basketball title - which would have been pretty cool.
BUT ... as you wrote UKfan215 ... there was a lot of good feelin' when Duke went down !

It’s weird. Had Florida beaten Duke tonight, I’d be celebrating. I was pulling for Sampson though. Don’t really like his style…but Houston isn’t a threat to UK in the grand scheme of things. Would have been cool to see them win their first title.

Florida's defense got physical down the stretch and Houston couldn't handle it. They're used to being the bullies.

Combine a tough D against a 1960s-style offense and that's what happens. Houston's only shot at scoring was getting an offensive rebound. Probably would've worked out better if they just missed a couple of their patented 12-foot hooks or 15-foot runners late in the game instead of turning it over.

Crazy how hard it is to win these tournaments. I really do think a 1/3 of it is luck. If cryer gets that hybrid floater/jumper or Houston gets one of the butter finger rebounds they very well could have done it.

Duke's collapse was one of the worst in the past decade, there's no comparison.
That's what I am saying. Dook's meltdown was something I can't ever remember seeing. Last 10 minutes or so of a second half without a field goal? Good Gawd that was bad.
The game we watched tonight was back and forth for the most part down the stretch.

Florida was clearly playing better than anyone in the country, going into the tournament. And they matched up better against Duke than they did Houston. Florida would have RUN Duke out of the gym.

When Houston went up 11, I said, out loud, "Sampson's got the game. Houston just needs to trade baskets and not make any mistakes."

Lower stakes obviously but in my book nothing can top the U6 loss to UVA a few years back. You'd have to gameplan a meltdown like that.

Houston got ripped off. Florida was getting away with murder. The refs took over the game even the announcers commented. A real shame

I hate to say this but I could actually enjoy the championship game knowing Duke wasn’t in it. I didn’t care who won, so long as Duke didn’t. We avenged 1992 in 1998 with our come back against Duke but I hate Duke with a passion. Just seems like rich entitled “my dad’s a lawyer and we will sue” type dweebs.

What a strange, officiated game- 4 fouls total called in first half and 20+ in 2nd half- u could have stabbed someone in 1st half and had no foul called but 2nd half, just get close to someone and a foul is called- IMO terribly officiated game
