What game, moment or decision rendered by officials was the most underhanded and unfair in sports history?

Example A: Raiders/Patriots “Tuck Rule” which somehow rationalized a sack-fumble to be some sort of incomplete pass. We’ve never seen another one like it.

Example B: 2014 Dez Bryant non-catch catch TD in playoffs. I mean, that was cringy. I hate the Cowboys and all, but sometimes you know the refs just make **** up.

USA v RUSSIA’72
Boxing split decisions out of nowhere

What ya got?

1985 World Series. Cards were screwed and I hate the Cards. Ask any Cards fan about Don Denkinger.

Jeffrey Maier hauling in a perfectly blasted Jeterian Home Run was a nice little moment🤗.

controversial take here, but the George Brett pine tar game is an instance that the umps rendered the CORRECT decision in calling Mr Double-Tapered **** Out for use of an illegal bat.

the rules were explicit and clear. Eff him and his pine tar.

However, the ruling was overturned, exposing hypocrisy and unfairness to... The Yankees.

In bottom of ninth replay a month later, Billy Martin appealing that Brett touched all the bases to a new Umpire crew was magic. RIP Billy.

Roy Jones Jr loss against Park Si-Hun during '88 summer olympics in Seoul ranks up in the top-10. Jones beat the living hell outta that guy. Bribery involved. Home cooking at its finest.
Easily the worst I have ever seen. Invite folks to watch that fight and be amazed at how bad that decision was. Epic level of screw job.

You beat me to it. Jones pummeled that guy the entire. Jones rightfully boycotted the medal ceremony.

One of the worst calls I ever witnessed came from a high school state championship game. In 2007 Danville blocked a punt against Newport... and got called for roughing the punter.

Kentucky/Tulane 1980 was awful.

But 1972 olympics is probably the worst.

Then there was FL at Commonwealth with JLo as QB. We'd led most of game but FL was coming back. JL threw pass, FL D lineman knocked it down right at his feet & it bounced right back up into his hands. He showed ref the ball & he gave him the INT. Pre-review days. Do I need to say who won?

I don't think this one is going to go down in any worst Hall of Fames, but it still bugs the hell out of me because it was against the Patriots, who got the benefit of so many of these "fine print" rulings over the years.
