I'll admit I can't speak for the modern day sitcoms but IMO Welcome Back Kotter and Three's Company were really bad. Showing my age.

Family Affair (Brian Keith). Yes it was a comedy with a laugh track. Watching it in reruns as a young jackal I would think "this is a comedy"??

Something about the "rural purge" in the early 1970s that put s ceiling on a lot of good crap

Three's Company
It really is amazing how poorly that show held up. If it wasn't for Suzanne Sommer's perky boobs, the other ones floppy ones and John Ritter's balls falling out occasionally, it would have been off the air before the pilot was over. Just an awful show, terrible jokes and idiotic storylines. It makes Big Bang Theory look like King Lear. Any time that Don Knotts is the most subtle comedic performer in the ensemble is a sure sign that your writers are so jacked up on coke and ludes that most anything would be considered funny. Throw In the fact that the whole show is a multi-season long gay joke and you're left with an empty shell of television awfulness.

You summed it up nicely. Awful show. I still can't understand how it has a following, and it does surprisingly. TV at it's worst.

False. All of it. Norman Fell was a God.

Damn that takes me back. I remember it well. I guess we're officially old timers?
+1

Stop on by the D-League sometime. I posted about it there a few months ago. Remember watching the show way back when. Rat Patrol was popular back then too.

Hey thanks! I'll check it out. Remember Time Tunnel? Just throwing some old shows out. I'll check in to D-League.
I remember watching it over at grandma's place. Remember Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Green Hornet?

The gang bang theory is pure garbage. The absolute worst idea I ever saw was the caveman one. I think it made it two episodes, but to take a car insurance commercial and try and make it funny was a bad idea. The bastard who created that probably created two stroke girls as well.

everything that isn't Married With Children.

That's the GOAT.
Al Bundy effectively articulates my views on most subjects

Andy Griffith show stunk after DK left. Andy started putting "ing" on the end of his words in stead of "in."....Tried to sound educated.

When cbs got rid of Beverly Hillbillies (one of the greatest, most subtle, ahead of its time comedies ever) and Green Acres in favor of urban shows like All in the fam, tv essentially died.

Silver Spoons was pretty awful

Hanging with Mr. Cooper was as well except for Holly Robinson
