Sometimes you are driven to it. Duke wasn't driven to it. Bob Knight was plugging for Coach K. We, on the other hand, appear to be driven to it. Whoever comes now will be a guy we got because we couldn't do any better.

It's outrageous. I never liked the Frank hire, and supported his dismissal, but with that said neither Paris nor BJ are the worth the buyout to replace Frank. I cannot fathom how anyone can still support Tanner. In fact, it's high time the BOT be disbanded and we simply start over from scratch.

I would have fired Foster immediately had I known he cancelled the scheduled game vs Dook his first year here. Postponing it a couple of years until all his Blue Devil recruits graduated - sure. But not outright cancel it.

Coach K was close to being fired at Duke during his first few years, as there was a huge falloff after Foster left. Lot of Clemson fans were talking about hiring him.....thank goodness that didn't happen.

Seems to be the going rate for young relatively unproven coaches. Pretty much at a minimum what I would expect. Florida is paying Golden from San Francisco the same for 6 years and his record wasn't hugely impressive other than one upset victory over Virginia. My guess is that McMahon will be higher than Golden.

I remember his early struggles very well. My point was the significant role that having a man like Knight pitching for you has in elevating a coaching prospect.
