Would you obey a mask mandate?

I hate wearing them. It’s easy if you only have to wear em here and there for a little bit at a time. I gotta wear one all day inside a factory that’s every bit of 10 degrees hotter than it is outside. Hard to breathe. Sweat pouring down your face and you can’t wipe it off. Miserable

Well, there really isn't a "mandate" as it can't be enforced and you can't be fined, cited, etc. It's tyrannical bs, nothing more, but it sounds good and scares the sheep even more.

That said, stores/restaurants/etc can require it if you want to spend your money in their establishment, which would be the main factor/change.

I wear a mask at work as it is required when we are away from our desks, and I wear one in stores out of respect for others, not for fear of the virus.

Because it’s unnecessary and the CDC says if you aren’t symptomatic and are healthy they aren’t recommended.

I will wear one if mandated, no need to create a difficult situation for a business that is simply complying with an incompetent governors action.

BS - The CDC commercial just played on my TV said to wear a mask...all people.

Per the CDC...

Everyone should wear a cloth face cover in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
  • Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

I just read it posted on the entrance of Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah Ky.

Baptist Health Paducah Update
As Baptist Health welcomes patients back into our facilities for a full range of healthcare needs, we are putting your safety first. Updated visitor guidelines are in place for patients in the hospital, including the Emergency Department, and all staff and visitors are required to wear protective masks. Learn more about the precautions we’re taking.

Yes. My wife wears one all day long and has no breathing issues even with pretty severe asthma. To me, it’s much more unpatriotic to not wear a mask because you are selfish and making up excuses than to just wear one for a while and protect others.

There is no need to wear a mask, nothing has changed in KY to warrant it. I take issue with an incompetent governor playing politics with my life. If you want to wear a mask then wear one by all means, but this ridiculous mandate is ridiculous.

I didn’t say they didn’t require it, I said the CDC didn’t require, and that’s exactly what the posted sign stated.

The Judge stated that, in order to issue and enforce executive orders related to COVID-19, the Governor must specify the state of emergency that requires the executive order, the location of the emergency, and the name of the local emergency management agency that has determined that the emergency is beyond its capabilities.

“The Governor cannot issue broad, arbitrary executive orders apart from the requirements of state law, and the Judge agreed by today issuing a statewide temporary restraining order”

I already wear one.....so, continuing won't bother me. Also, since there is sooooo much about Covid that they don't know yet, I think it's a good idea to wear one. Research is all over the board about wearing masks and it's a very small inconvenience.......so, err on the side of caution.

That being said, I hate the thought of "mandates." The gub-ment should dictate as little as possible to it's citizens.

Waiting for pro-lifers to chime in and let us know that the Gubmint has no authority to tell us what we can or can’t do with our own bodies.

I’ve been wearing a mask when visiting businesses for the last two or three months. We’ve all been taught since Kindergarten that we should cover our mouth and nose when we sneeze, to keep from spreading our germs. So now we’re being asked to cover our mouth and nose to keep from spreading our germs. And some people are pushing back? I don’t get it.

I AM A SOVEREIGN CITIZEN ON MY TRAVELS AM I FREE TO GO?

I have no idea what a mask mandate could even mean, and I'm not going to tune in today at 5 to find out. Just the thought of it is pure stupidity. Guess the police are happy, they will have of overtime, and more opportunities to shoot a mfer.

This is so false it's sad...

When do we stop wearing them? What if there’s never a vaccine, we just wear them forever?
It’s insane, it’s been turned into a political football. The CDC was against them, and then it got political.
I don’t mind wearing one, if the data shows it will make a difference, but it doesn’t. LA has had a mandatory mask mandate for months, and their cases are rising, while deaths have dropped.
If you want to wear one wear it, if you as a business owner want to make them mandatory go for it, but this blanket mandate from a scared governor playing politics is ********.

So now covering your mouth or nose when you sneeze isn’t good enough? How about the governor mandate we always must wear a mask.
Think how safe we’d be then, then we should lower speed limits by 20% across the board, how many lives would that save?

Albany, I apologize if I came across confrontational, it's nothing against you. I wish you'd still post in the poltical board, I always respected you even if we disagreed.

Very logical and well-reasoned argument!

I've been wearing one inside retail stores etc... I don't wear one outside. I'll continue to wear one inside.

I think people are being foolish if they think Masks are the silver bullet. this thing is spreading inside crowded bars and restaurants. not at Kroger.

We need to limit mass gatherings and offer financial assistance to bars and restaurants so they can survive through this and drastically limit capacity in those types of establishments.

Too much conflicting information for my tastes. I've read...

  • Asymptomatic individuals aren't likely to transmit
  • Wearing a mask protects others, not the wearer
  • Transmission via inanimate objects is rare or unlikely
If anything, I believe a mask gives a false sense of security.

I'll stick to staying 6' away from mfers.

I'll wear a mask as ordered, but I'll also not go anywhere it's required unless I MUST go to that place.

I never compared killing babies and wearing a mask. I compared government authority to dictate what people can do with their own bodies in each case. The government either has authority, or it does not. I like consistency in people’s point of view.
