...rack up many wins in a weak conference each year, be under the impression you're a national contender until getting thumped in a bowl game by a southern team with superior athleticism accross the board...or this? Trying to figure out if early Osborne or early Frost is more/less enjoyable.

At any rate, we appear to be WAY closer, rosterwise, to being "there" than we have been in years. Need snake repellent, STAT.

What's this meme about "early Osborne" getting his doors blown off by Southern teams? If you're referring to the stretch between 1988 and 1992, well, that's 15 seasons into his head coaching career.
