Uh, no. Every team has an occasional bad loss. Not every team has a heroic, heart-stopping comeback win over a Top Five (or so) team. Kentucky has two, including one over hated Duke.
For as much as I hate The ( Tosu) and for as much **** as I had to take ... NO . I'm all about whats best for the program
Wins over Duke or UNC are worth 3 to 4 combined wins over other Power 4 Conference teams.
I never want to lose. But the Clemson game doesn’t really bother me

It was also a window into how teams see us on film and how they intend to play us.

I wouldn't want to change anything. The losses will teach Pope where the teaching/coaching focus is needed. Especially for this team, the losses may be more valuable than the wins ... as long as we have Pope to coach/teach them. The totality of wins over quality of opponents helps with seeding (important, yes) but learning/understanding what it takes to win consistently gets you closer to a Final Four.
No. Those are two huge resume building wins. The Clemson loss by 4 on the road won't kill Kentucky. I would not trade a bad loss to Ohio State for either win over DOOK or Gonzaga.
Think the OP is making a point that we’re ahead of schedule for where we were supposed to be going into the year. We got the cherished wins not many expected us to have.
Seems the post is a counter to those grumbling. Or at least that’s how I take it because it’s an obvious answer. Maybe I’m way off.
Eh, the Clemson loss isn't bad. But that OSU one may or may not bite us depending on how the rest of the season goes. Do decent in the SEC and it's a nothing burger. Struggle mightily in the SEC and it can and will be used against us.
Just have to win the games we're supposed to and steal one or two we aren't going forward.
Big wins are more important than "bad" losses.

So no. Our resume is much stronger this way.

NO. NO. But yeah, that gut wrenching loss, then having to listen to those twerps. STILL haven’t lived it down. I’m here in Columbus. Funny how they didn’t even notice they had a basketball team until then.
That Ohio State game currently may have felt worse than it was. I think most of us including myself considered them to be a fairly weak opponent after what Maryland and Auburn had done to them, but looking bigger picture, they’re currently 9-4 and sitting top 30 in NET and KenPom. As disappointing as our performance was in that game, it shouldn’t hurt us that much as long as they don’t completely crater in Big 10 play.
I get that the obvious answer is no but is this really such an absurd idea? A one point overtime loss to Gonzaga in Seattle would in no way hurt us. It’s a great win, but if the score was reversed it would have been an amazing effort. The 20 point loss to Ohio state definitely looks rough. What if you flip it and we best Ohio state by 20 but loose to Gonzaga by a point in overtime? Wouldn’t that maybe look better somehow?
It's not the loss, it's HOW we lost and that matter in metrics. You can't get torpedoed by a team like that. Lose by 5-9. Eh, sucks, but move on. Losing by TWENTY is just not what a good team should do there. Again, we do decent in conference play and it won't matter. But we have a LOT to prove in the next two weeks.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind trading that Zaga win if it were flipped like that. But that's the ONLY one I'd consider and even then it's iffy. Beating a T30 Net team by 20 would absolutely look good.
Beating a top 10 team at what was badically a home game who are a very highly regarded team is much more important than a neutral floor loss, no matter how by how much, to a power 5 team that is 9 and 4. The loss is more in the fan’s psyche that in the overall big picture.
