Wouldn't two straight seasons of 40-0 be great...

I know it is early to begin speculation on next season. We don't know for sure who will be in the new class of recruits and we have no idea who might return from this team. However, this is Kentucky and Calipari is the coach. Those two facts are enough to make us believe that 40-0 is always a possibility. For next season I happen to believe that the incoming recruiting class is going to be great. I also have a gut feeling that we are going to have some returnees that will surprise everyone. Will next year's team go 40-0? I don't know but, so far, the 2015-2016 team hasn't lost a game so I think they have a chance. Would certainly drive the rest of the sports world insane, wouldn't it?

Lets focus in on the here and now but i will say i do expect us to be the best team again next year . We will lose 1-2 times IMO but if this is our team i think we could win it all again . I see next year looking something like this -

Blue unit

Ulis
Booker
Poythress
Skal
Dakari

White Unit

Briscoe
Newman
Matthews
Lee
Zimmerman

With Matthews , Hawkins and Bryant as the others ( i think Willis will transfer )

Would be, but unless everybody on this team comes back, wouldn't count on it. Even if they all do come back, I still wouldn't count on it.
It's just one of those things. Let's finish out this season first, hopefully with 9 more wins.

There is 0% chance Malik Newman comes off the bench for Kentucky or anyone else next year.

If some is good, more is, by definition, better.

So, let's make it 3 in a row.

first i just realized i listed matthews twice .

Saul- Well with the platoon there are like 10 starters but i didn't think that deeply about it . But just for your sake ,ok move poy to the 2nd platoon and newman to the sg and booker becomes the sf. But i am not a fan of when people say so and so isn't coming to UK to come off the bench when if you know Cal you know he won't promise a starting job to anyone . Listen if we add Newman , which we will , i think he plays 20-24 or so minutes a game like everyone else who is big time on the sqaud and just like this year i could care less who starts the first half . Thats one of the things i love Cal has done - if you start the 1st half the other guy starts the 2nd half .Saul I understand theory why you made the comment but with the platoons it is moot. Also in this theortical squad Newman on the white team made everything more easy with the line ups.

Obviously you don't despise this this thread which is proven by the fact that you not only read it, but you commented on it as well. If you truly despised the thread you would have ignored it.

People need to realize that this is Kentucky. We don't have to focus on the here and now. The here and now has and will take care of itself. We assume the future is ours and we plan accordingly. That is why I feel justified in starting the 40-0 discussion for next season right now. Let the rest of the world fear us. They should be extremely depressed when they come to the realization that this could all happen again next season.

There is such a thing as being humble and appreciating what you have in the here and now. Don't be so dang cocky. Be thankful for this year. All you are doing is looking like an ungrateful jerk. What we have now is special. Please just allow us to enjoy it.

You don't want that to happen. The microscope that would be on Lexington would become impossible. The NCAA would ban us for something.

If it shakes up like that we see an 8 man rotation by tourney time IMO. Guard play would be lethal.

You all do realize that if they finish 40-0 Cal and this team will be the first in history to actually meet fans expectations ?

So, to answer the OP's question; Yes, not only will it be great, but expected every year, once they prove it can be done haha

I agree with the posters to this thread who suggest that at this stage of this season renewed talk of 40-0 feels very much like "jinx talk" to me. I'd rather talk about winning No. 9.

But ... given that the thread is here ... it seems to me that everyone may have forgotten that UCLA won 88 straight back in the day. So even talk about "two straight seasons of 40-0" would not necessarily be record-setting, in that context.

Just sayin' ...

People here want to complain about your post, but will go and by lottery tickets that have even a smaller chance than going 40-0 five years in a row.

Two in a row? Is that all?
My palm reader and my astrologer both have a "gut feeling" that
we'll never lose another game...

I would just like 2 NC and could care less about undefeated seasons. That is difficult enough without going undefeated. Cutting down the nets the last game of the season is all that counts.

Heck losing in the quarter final of the SEC tournament after you have the number one seed sewed up might even be a good thing. It gives you more time to prepare for the NCAA tournament. Evidently whether you are the number one or number four one seed means little to the selection committee. Heck the last several years the number one, one seed seems to have gotten the loaded region.

Is the OP serious? Yeah, actually I think if we do it, that's gonna be the standard from now on, and the first time we don't go undefeated, Cal should be fired.

The thread may indeed be dumb, but what does that say about people like you who decided to read it and to go to the extreme to actually make a post. Now that is funny.

Dream big OP. Don't let these pansies bring you down, I think 80-0 would be spectacular.
