“The "Jones Road Wildfire" in the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area spanning parts of the townships of Barnegat, Ocean and Lacey grew from just over a hundred acres early Tuesday afternoon to about 8,500 acres, or 13.3 square miles, by 10 p.m.

At 10 p.m., just 10% of the fire was considered under control.

At 6:30 p.m., officials mandated evacuations in the area of Route 9 in Lacey. Eventually, the fire threatened 1,320 structures, leading to evacuation orders affecting 3,000 people.“

Wildfires in New Jersey not giving me a warm fuzzy feeling about getting my homeowners policy renewed in Arizona . Insurance companies believe in climate change ............
You’re in a pretty large cohort nowadays. Good luck to you.

Whether they believe in it is immaterial. They will use it to their advantage wherever possible.

Feel bad for those in the area, but at least the smoke will help to cover up the stink that is New Jersey.
The stink in New Jersey is caused exclusively by the odorous white trash from Pennsylvania who first visit and then later, move there.

Update to my assessment: Not mentally ill, just stupid. Seems as if it wasn’t malicious, he started a bonfire in the woods and didn’t extinguish it. Too bad for him, he’ll spend some time in jail.

I had a reputation at my job for being nice to everyone. Know why? Because up to around age 40 I made a whole **** load of stupid mistakes that by the grace of God didn’t end up being destructive. I came “this close” numerous times. Nobody deserves the kind of luck I’ve had. I was Lord of the Idiots.

Sage advice. I always tell people..."You can be an ahole and keep your job. You can make mistakes and keep your job. You cant be an ahole and make mistakes and keep your job."
