Wow. I don't think I have every seen a team cough up so many leads in a season. If Nebraska weren't such a bad team we would have lost that game. I am really happy for the players, thogh. As much as we ***** and moan about having to watch these implosions, it obviously has to be 10x rougher for the players to work so hard and lose games they should win over and over again.

A few observations. Beran has to be more of a factor and he needs to shoot open 3's. That's why he is out there. He passed up some looks today. We have so little 3-point shooting on the team. He has to stretch the floor. He is not capable at this point of taking advantage of his length. Like Nance, he has a lot of work to do this summer on his post-game.

Boie is a warrior and he will lead us to a lot of wins. For whatever reason, he has no confidence in his outside shot right now. He was so hot for a while but you can tell that he is passing up outside shots. He will be so much more effective when he starts hitting 3's again. He also needs to learn how to finish without getting his layups blocked. When he gets his layups blocked, it gives the other team a fast break. It's like a 4-point turnaround. I am confident he will figure that out.

Nance is currently the only guy on the team that can make things look easy. He has a long, long way to go but I think he will need to be a huge part of the team if they are to become good. Basketball is about mismatches and he is the only guy on the team that creates mismatches. Everyone on the team seems like they have to work so damn hard to make baskets. His turnaround in the second half looked so effortless. Being taller than the guy guarding you and being pretty athletic at 6'10 is a huge advantage. He is able to get rebounds, block shots and see over the guy guarding him and make some really nice passes. If he can draw a double team on switches, it will open up our offense and create a lot of easy baskets.

Young will probably always drive me a little crazy. Great effort and nice footwork but the lack of any explosiveness results in some plays that bring back memories of the pre-Pardon decades. I got spoiled seeing Pardon catch everything thrown his way and finish plays with dunks.

Kopp would be a really great scorer on a team with other weapons. He is such a good shooter. He just needs players around him that can create and draw his defender.

Thanks for celebrating our 2nd B1G victory by pointing out the inadequacies of our players.

You're welcome. Like I said, I am really happy for the players and I hope they celebrate. They deserve it. Like others have said, a win is better than a loss. Personally, watching them choke away (that's what it was) another last minute lead to a 7 and 21 team that missed so many free throws, I am not really in a celebratory mood. I have higher expectations for the team. Call me an optimist. I don't think I was being negative. Just observing what I think needs to improve in order for the team to be good going forward.

I didn't read that at all. You only read what you wanted to read I guess. His post was spot on and offered hope and mentioned many many positive things. You need to focus on the positive things. Life is too short my friend.

Plus Kopp needs his breaks to remain strong through second half. And Young is still a first year. After playing they know more of what he has to work on. He needs to get stronger and with it some of those frustrations will go away

Need Baran to step up and help out Kopp with the scoring load. Young looks pretty strong already but another off year of conditioning can only help. Also think the Buie will shine, if Berry can take some of the pressure off him.
