I thought Wren was different. Nope. It's all about the money. Wren's character has been damaged. He said he would hire a man of "integrity". Well, that just went out the window. RR is not a man of integrity. What a sell out. Fire Wren!

I'm not a fan of RR but fully disagree with this perspective of wanting to fire Wren and he sold out.

I'm not a Rod fan either but I will support him. I also do not believe Wren sold out.

Who was a better football candidate for head coach that had experience and wanted the job? I'll wait.......

If rather have Rich than Bill Belichick. I think the whole Belichick thing is odd. Do we really think he’ll be successful?

I’d bet he’ll be successful. Former high level NFL players that played for multiple HOF Coaches are saying Belichick is saying stuff on TV about football they’ve never heard before. UNC won this coaching cycle. For sure.

Implying that Wren sold out is just no accurate - I suggest that he listened. One of the "monied people" Ken Kendricks issued a statement yesterday which said Wren did a national search and made the selection. It is one with which several big donors agreed. But make no mistake thousands of Mountaineer fans supported RichRod. They remember the excitement and toughness of his Mountaineer teams. Further RichRod has said numerous times that leaving WVU was one the biggest mistakes he's ever made. I suggest that one of the toughest tickets in the country for the 2025 college football season will on September 13 when pitt comes to Morgantown.

If this was truly about integrity, Neal Brown would still be here and have a lifetime contract. Do you want to win? The University realizes this football program is extremely important financially to the school, community, and state. Without it, a lot of financial problems and issues for the university would occur. Only people thinking small are worried about hurt egos and feelings that happened 17 freaking years ago. Look at the big picture.

Wren picked the guy who is an experienced HC and has a huge burning desire to win at WVU. This is it for Rich. Very good choice by Wren. Now is the time for this

UNC probable made the best move of the decade...I'm not just referring to winning games..I'm sure that those boys at Chapel Hill saw the results of the Dieon Sanders effect..The Colorado athletic department was broke..still they hired Sanders for a 5 yr 30 million contract... a huge gamble..however, in the past 18 months Colorado's online store sales have increased 2,544 %.. fortune befriends the bold

What else would you expect from a backwards state?

You don't deserve to walk on WV soil. You RR haters act like you lost your wife when Rich Rod left. Grow up and get a grip. It's football. He's a coach. Get over yourself and accept the reality that you don't have a clue what you are talking about when it comes to football coaches. You lied to everyone on this board anyway. Your Insider info was bogus.

Wait, you mean we didn't hire the Georgia assistant that he said "Saban gave his approval" for? :joy:

I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby gets rid of him. He isn't highly regarded in Georgia. And I'm not just talking about the fans.

Owning a bold face lie? Everything is wrong with it. Owning an opinion that is whacked? No problem other than being looked at being nutty. But that isn't what you did.

Goodbye

What Wren said about Rich Rod is true. He will put every bit of his heart and soul in winning. Rich rod has said that leaving WVU was the worst thing he's ever done professionally and personally. He has wanted redemption for a long time. I don't think he is lying. This is it and he knows it. He is coming here with a big chip on his shoulder and his legacy depends on him delivering. I love it. The life is already back into the program. There is an excitement and hype is already building. Rich Rod will not turn out like other retreads imo. This is a unique story and he's a helluva coach. We are back!

Why fire Huggs if you are going to ruin your character by hiriing RR? I'll support WVU, but not RR. He can't win and won't win here either. I'm interested to see how much we pay him. It better by less than NB.

What's the harm in owning it? It makes WV unique. And I'm not blaming the way it is on you as it was like that before you were born. It is what it is.
Take I-77 north/south........or I-79 north.......or I-64 east or west........any of those will get your out of West Virginia. If you need, I can send you maps. I'll even pay for the U-haul to clean out your mom's basement of your stuff.

I don't think he wanted to hire RR it's just that the candidate pool became diminished to the point that any other hire would have been unappealing, so he appeased the money people.

It must have been so bad that he was willing to sacrifice his "I consider integrity to be non-negotiable" line to hire the last guy you'd think to pick when it comes to integrity.

You have such a losery state of mind. Wren knows what he's doing and he did it. If Neal gets a job offer I expect you'll follow him and good for you. Wvu isn't the team for you apparently.

When did I ever say anything about wanting Brown back? You're an idiot of the highest order. You told us that Wvu basketball would fall of the face of the earth after we got rid of a coach who should have been sent packing years ago. Baker only hired RR because his top targets passed on the job. Anyone with half a brain can figure that out. If Rich doesn't bring us back to the glory days, you will be one of the first to jump off the band wagon. That's the type of person you are.

While that might be true, it is a blessing. Beilein also wasn’t Pastilong first choice and that turned out for the best. Personally, I thought Kotelnicki was unqualified for the job considering he was never a HC at any level. Notice we were the only P4 school interested in him? Hartline was a co offensive coordinator at Ohio State. Did he turn it down? Was he even offered? Becht was interviewed. Was he offered? Out of those 3, it’s clear Rod was more qualified. The only other candidate besides Rod and Jimbo I’ve heard that I thought was a good choice wouldve been Jeff Monken at Army.
