Not really.
33-Figs, Ronnie Ram is going to be good though!
41- Vega, it’s pretty even with Carter daily though. Really tight match. Tagen will be back too.
49- Swiddy is going to have a good year.
57- Robidoo, but can’t go wrong with Teague either. Both of them handle this business like the staff wants.
65- Dee
84- Ryder with a tight one because BT is terribly difficult to score on. Both are AA caliber, BT would be for sure if he understood the offensive side of the sport.
97-Merrill handles this spot daily very well. Just my $.02 is that he has a strength deficit.

Like I said, 10AAs!

Merrill looked great in the first period, but did not seem able to keep it up and gave up second and third period takedowns. Robideau is very strong and can turn most shots from opponent into a takedown. I think Chase has a very good assessment.
One thing I didn’t mention…length. I think the rangy guys can cause problems for Merrill.
That’s something he will figure out, since his Head Coach can tie his Wrestling shoes standing up without bending his knees.

From the bits and pieces here I can see the following. Merrill not having enough confidence right now and not able to adjust well to tall guys. But he is getting better. Ryder has good offense and BT has good defense. And we will be happy with either Robideau or Teague come march. 133 still has a lot of questions.

Is Jersey Robb still around, can he move to 197?

I am happy with a lot of Cowboy wrestling but Cody Merrill's lack of results in college, confuses me. His senior year he wrestled HWT and Sahakian (Michigan) who is about 6:5 270 and Cody was 5:9 230 and fat and he beat him for the State title. How does he lose all this fat and become so much weaker. The NCAA 197 champ could not out strength him or use his length advantage and just pulled out a 2 to 0 win over Cody last year. It makes no sense to me that Mower can now beat him.

He’s at 197 but maybe dinged up alittle

I am encouraged by the Vega and Robideau results. We need them to be several levels above Carter and Teague by the end of the year. The Merrill situation is not ideal, but it is a long season. I would think DT would have brought a portal guy in if he thought Merrill couldn't compete at a high level. Hard to think we wouldn't have been able to sway Stephen Little or Joey Novak from Little Rock/Wyoming. With DT being around 197 and it being one of the more winnable weights, it is hard to imagine us having another year without an AA.

I would not worry about Merrill. He might have pulled weight incorrectly. Coach has confidence in him and there is reason for that. Coach said that was the only surprise of the night. The first period belonged to Merrill, but the rest was not.

But we already have a guy who can beat Merrill. Isn't that a good thing? :)

That’s comforting!
Fat is converted into diesel through two primary methods: biodiesel production via transesterification and renewable diesel production via hydrotreating. Transesterification chemically reacts animal fat with an alcohol, typically methanol, to create biodiesel and glycerin. Hydrotreating involves reacting the fat with hydrogen under high pressure and temperature to produce a hydrocarbon that is chemically identical to petroleum diesel.

DC weighs in to say he never won a wrestle-off here. He ended being decent imo.

The funny part is DC tweeted this in the middle of commentating UFC 321

Aaron Bartlett is blowing up good for him.

I just looked up Benji Mower’s career, I wouldn’t call it earth shattering. Unless Benji is a real late bloomer, CM isn’t starting this year off well. Didn’t Cody lose this summer to the Chinese team?

Lots of guys lose in rankings.

Johnny Thompson, after a Natty.
DC (not sure if he ever won one?)
Rosholt, I think had some slip ups.
Dean Heil, after a Natty.

There are more I’m sure.

I won in youth rankings and proceeded to get stomped all season. The better man did not take the mat. So there’s that.

Last year Caleb smith lost to Lauridsen.
Flynn lost to Morvari.
It's happens and is concerning but not the end of the world. I have been told that Merrill wins in the room. Wrestling teammates can be hard.
Fax!

Merrill got gassed. Over confident? Put on a show for the big money?

Who really knows? Merrill will be fine! Also, Mower is probably an 84 and early weight was easy for him.

Over confident which probably lead to him being heavy and he didn't lose the weight right which gassed him. If I had to guess

I think Johnny Thompson got pinned by Daniel Frishkorn at an orange/white dual if I remember correctly. That was fresh off Thompson winning a natty.

That definitely happened was 2003 I believe. And don't piss off the fans it's the orange/black 🤣

I don't think freshman Johnny Hendricks ever beat Kevin Ward and finished 5th that year
