Wright and 'Nova

Just got done expressing my sympathy to my daughter-in-law about the Wildcat's loss last night, and I brought up my feeling that Wright may not be long for 'Nova. I don't have any idea what he is paid now, but can you guys and gals see him jumping to a big revenue (read football and basketball) school if a good basketball job opens up? I mean like a Texas or Indiana? I know every coach can always jump....well, not K or Self or Williams maybe...but Wright has been so good for so long at every stop he's made that I think he's particularly vulnerable. And I know I've said it before and drawn the wrath of some other posters, but I still see the Big East regressing toward mid-major status. Thoughts?

I'm not sure Crean at Indiana has much more time and Wright would be a great coach there. I guess it depends on his loyalty to Nova, but I agree, I wouldn't want to be a coach in the Big East

Have never been sold on his being a good x and o coach. When you hear him talk he does not appear to break the game down like Coach K, Izzo, etc.

To the op...i just feel like he has eek there so long that he will stay, but I'm not exactly sure how long that's been. I think there are schools that would over to et him though.

I heard him speak at a clinic a few years back and amen way impressed. Some coaches put on shows and are very personable at those things and maybe that was him... but he seemed smart and likeable. I have seen other coaches who are supposedly brilliant and they mail it in at these clinics, like Boeheim. And then there are those that just aren't impressive, Roy and Leonard Hamilton come to mind. They can coach, but their knowledge of the game is not awe inspiring...lol

Afternoon guys.

With the NCAA hammer coming down on S'cuse and soon on the UNC North Clickians, things will get interesting in your conference. Delany and the B1G will probably raid again - Maryland is gone, UVA (and possibly 1 other) are up next. Both the B1G and the ACC are beginning to make footholds at the Barclays Center, playing games at the MSG.
It is well known that Duke has a large following up north, and Coach K loves playing in the Garden. I'm guessing that the Big East would welcome the Blue Devils, should Duke decide to leave the ACC. Most in the BE think it could never happen in a million years, but these last 10 years in collegiate sports show that anything is possible.

I think Duke would be a great fit, along with Gonzaga, in the Big East. As a minority of one - I reserve the privilege to dream big. Thanks for letting me share.

PS: The Big East is better than most folks think.

He's been at Nova for 14 years now. That's a longer tenure than just about every HC at a major basketball school outside of Coach K, Izzo, and Boeheim. He seems pretty stable there. The only gripe I would have about being in the Big East is they don't get the exposure that all of the other power conferences get through ESPN. I have a hard time watching games on Fox for some reason..

The BE dropped most of its dead weight - S'cuse, Pitt, ND, and the AAC.
#2 Conf. RPI, 6 teams in the Dance.

WilliamCampbell - watched you on TV a lot. Oops-thinking Joseph Campbell. Sorry Will.

Serious as the govt debt. Planting seeds Will, just planting seeds. Maybe one day up the road I'll harvest some wheat.
One can dream - with a bit of work, blessing, and luck - DisneyWorld!

If so, Maryland left because they needed a financial bailout because math is apparently not their strong suit. Every ACC team signed a clause in the last round of negotiations that made it WAYYYYYYY too expensive for any team to leave in the next 10 years. No one is going anywhere. Certainly not to a mid major like the Big East.

Thanks for the responses all.

Did Delany and the B1G get that memo?

Famous last words of several Div 1 Confence commissioners (Big 12, Big East, ACC, CUSA, MWC, others):
"No one is going anywhere."

Nixon: "I am not a crook."

Clinton: "I did not have sex with that woman."

Everything is possible, some merely more probable than others.

Thanks all.
