WVU deserved to lose

Defense: Played the run well except when we really needed the stop at the end. Gave up big plays and blown coverages several times, but at least some things to be hopeful about.

Doege: Played like utter crap and was the sole reason the offense was so ineffective. It's just objective fact that Doege is not a very good D1 QB.

WR: Dropped too many passes again. Maybe they are surprised by the ball coming to them instead of defenders?

Play calling: Doege was sucking all game and so immediately after we get lucky with that long pass to James we call back to back plays with empty back field and put it on Doege? I'm not opposed to throwing, but not even using Leddie as a threat to even play action? That was a disastrous sequence.

Missed oppertunities: First half gave Maryland 3 consecutive offensive tries by stupid turnovers. Then wasted a chance to drive with 3-4 minutes left only to waste it and then give MD the opportunity for a FG in the end. Second half 4 back to back offensive series including one starting at the MD 44 and no points.

Coach Brown: Calling that last timeout at the end just looks petty and asinine.

Overall: Very ugly performance and not encouraging at all for the start of a 3rd season. My faith in Brown is pretty low right now.

Don't forget, very early in the game after we took 7-3 lead, we kicked it short and Maryland fumbled it......right in to our hands.....and we kicked it out of bounds. Could have potentially had the ball inside the 20 right after our first TD. Could have been up 14-3 in a blink of an eye.

Neal Brown has to pull his head out of his *** and give Greene the duel threat a shot. Let him develop at least. Doege isn't the one and that much is definitely evident. The playcalling is suspect at times too but a guy like Greene could give for more options. The more games we play the more Brown looks like he's in over his head. Not a good way to open his 3rd season.

Greene isn’t the answer
Not alone he's not. Leddie is the true answer but they have to stick with him and stop getting cute. But a guy like Greene gives a lot of options that Daygay wont give. A running combo of Greene and Brown with some short/medium passes thrown in could be a game changer for us. Holgerson's best coaching for us, imo, was when Skylar quietly led us to a 10 win season. Holgs used his strengths and the run game to squeak out a good season despite Skylar's passing shortcomings. Brown has got to figure some of that mojo.

I don't care who was QB or coach you can't turn the ball over 4 times to anyone. Especially driving in 4th to extend the lead.

Please play a different QB against the weaker LIU. At least somebody would be ready for rest of season just in case.

But couldn't beat a team that mattered in 2016. Only 3 of those wins were against teams above .500

Very vanilla play calling. Sloppy special teams and just nonsensical offensive display. All of which fall back onto Brown as HC.

Also, Austin Kendall had an amazing game today. Maybe Brown ran out the wrong QB.

Put in Will Crowder, at least he can see over the defense

How can we severe the Doege family ties?

If you're going to turn the ball over and give away games at least try it with the back up QB.
