Can't walk guys, hit guys, and make errors if you want to win games down the stretch. We did all those tonight. Tough pill to swallow. This team hasn't went through any adversity all year in extended periods. I'm afraid they are hitting the normal "slump" baseball teams go through in a long season. Bad time to go through it.
Uncharacteristic tonight. But this loss probably bumps us out of any shot of being a top 8 seed, and a couple more losses may slide us down to a #2 seed and not hosting a regional.

EDIT: If you are talking about pulling Estridge, he was probably on a pitch count from throwing this past weekend and needed for this coming weekend.

I know enough to not walk a batter after HBP. Who cares if I respond to myself?
It happens. I don't think the WVU pitcher intentionally hit the guy and then purposely walked the next guy. They aren't robots. They aren't in a video game. The relievers had a bad day. It happens. It sucks, but it happens. Just like missing a layup, or dropping a touchdown. They didn't intend to do it, it just happened.
Also, show us a video of your bullpen session. I'd love to see your 100% strike ratio. :joy:
Sabins does not care about mid week games. This is starting to smell like the collapse of 2023. Used 9 pitchers. Pulling pitchers for saving them on weekend tells me he doesn't care about mid week games. Three straight losses. PSU, Marshall, Pitt.
Pulling Myers for Fr- Bryant Yoak (recorded 0 outs allowed 3 runs) Pulled Yoak for Ben McDougal who recorded 0 outs. Put in another Freshman in the 9th Benjamin Hudson with a 4 run lead. Pulled Hutson for another freshman Mac Stiffler. Yeah he didn't make dumb moves. Estridge had 33 pitches and was dominating. He would not have gone over 55 pitches. Possibility he just blew the chance to host a regional.
Putting in Freshman in a clutch situation is not smart. A 4 run lead and choke city.
Duh. Midweek games don't matter. The only thing that matters is the Big 12 weekend series. Would you like to have sacrificed the Friday night game to win the game at Pitt?
Yes. I played ball. I coach ball. And I know that walks are part of the game. Nobody intends to do it. It happens.
