WVU is #24 in both the latest Associated Press national rankings by media folks and the USA Today rankings by coaches. About time!
Mountaineers are projected to make March Madness by every selection group! Average predicted seedings are #3 to #10 with a #5.47 average, which puts WVU into the Top 25 in March Madness. Remember, there are 4 of every seed – 4 #1’s, 4 #2’s, etc.
Long way to go but the 9 college transfer talents might just surprise a few along the way.
Big 12 standings will be interesting, with conference games beginning New Year’s Eve with all 10 teams in the 5 games.
After all, WVU, Kansas, Texas, Baylor and TCU – HALF the conference – is in everybody’s Top 25 rankings and the top 6 seeds (24 teams) in March Madness.
It’s going to be one helluva barroom fight in the Big 12 which will toughen up the survivors for March Madness.
The New Year’s Eve bareknuckle matchups which will have one game at noon and 3 simultaneously at 2 pm, giving Big 12 fans a breather for about an hour before WVU and Kansas State wrap it up with a 7 pm tipoff. TV ratings should be going through the roof!
