It really gets my boxers in a knot when these snowflake, mamby-pamby weather people go on the air moaning and groaning about the impending blizzard that is bound to hit us. They paint a picture of something akin to the arrival of the next ice age. I start looking forward to the possibility of roads shutting down, work being called off and the governor declaring that everyone should stay home. I get my hopes up. HOWEVER, it never fails when the time to put up or shut up comes we get barely a dusting of snow.

Why don't they just forecast what the know is most likely to happen instead of getting our hopes up?....like it's good news that we're only getting an inch of snow instead of two feet.

Sorry that the weather is so good?

No. I just detest being told something they know is not likely to happen. IMO, they look at the worst possible forecast and give that instead of telling what is most likely to happen. Check it out. How often have weather people said we were going to get a big snow, only then to get half or less of what they said.

IMO, They give us the worst possible forecast just to get viewers to tune in.

it's not a bad deal here in LaGrange. Not sure what you were expecting. But I don't watch any of the clown media anyways. I got a case a beer an ounce of nuggets and my ps3 . Let's roll

I’m sure that’s part of it, but they also have so many tools that show conflicting forecasts that they have to do their best to give us an idea of what might happen. I would rather get a worst case scenario and be fortunate and safe than underestimate a winter storm and be stranded and cold.

When it comes to bad weather they are going to report worst case scenario's so that the common idiot is prepared. If they only told you that you might get a dusting no one would be prepared if the worst happened. It's always better to be over prepared than under.
