Yet another plane crash

Wow. All passengers and crew accounted for. Surviving a plane crash is a near-zero likelihood. All aboard are beyond incredibly lucky. Thankfully.
Double wow. Some fortunate folks there. A search tells me it's a windy day in Toronto. My totally amateur opinion is that a gust of wind caught the plane at just the right moment as it landed/was landing. Common sense says a fall from a considerable height would have pancaked the fuselage, at a minimum. It looks like it was just a "gentle" flip although I doubt that's what the passengers thought.
4 major plane crashes in 6 weeks. 85 dead. WTF is going on? My wife is terrified of flying and hasn't in 6 years. We booked a flight in March and now this shìt. Another crash or 2 and I'll be eating $1000 and local fun for a staycation.

I just got back from a quick trip yesterday in crummy NE weather. I’d be lying if I said these incidents weren’t in the back of my mind.
My wife is hopping on a flight home in about an hour. From MN. On Delta. I think I’ll avoid mentioning this to her or else I’ll be in the car, driving 12 hours to pick her up.
Not sure how many glasses of wine I can get in her before a 8 am flight if I get her to the airport. It'll be close.

This was a good landing. Everyone survived.
If it was a great landing they could reuse the airplane. A few structural engineers and A&P mechanics could make this a great landing.

I like fights that don't land upside down. Or in the Potomac. Or the mountains of Alaska or streets of Philly. I'm hoping that's not too much to ask. Also, I'd like to know why the black box from the DC crash info was available in a couple of weeks and the Philly crash black box won't be available for a couple of years?

Well on his 10th or so handle so he's just some drunk moron....best to ignore the insecure little ****. It certainly does seem like there is an uptick of crashes lately, but I certainly don't know the analytics on airline crashes to guess how much of a spike this is.

Years ago I had a hard landing at DFW in an MD80 (those planes were really sturdy and over engineered). A down draft hit as we were touching down and a wing tip scraped the ground. Could hear it loud as day. Plane came to a stop and we limped to an empty part of the airfield and emptied on a portable pair of stairs away from the terminal.
