You think Stoops will not be the coach of this team next year. If he only wins 2 games will be the only way he is fired at the end of this season. I guess everyone can dream though.

My prediction is 4 wins this year. 5 maybe 6 wins next year and he is the coach in 2018 as well.

2017 will be the telling year. He will NOT be fired until the end of 2017 period unless the wheels completely fall off and 0 fans attend the games.

If we lose to South Carolina, you wont have to worry about fans at the Vandy game...there wont be many Vandy fans there to fill in any seats either. Could probably get front rows for 30 bucks.

Even if he did somehow pull of a miracle and make it to next year and win 5 or 6 games, the rational fans have cashed out on this guy, even the ones that were double fisting shots of the blue kool-aid. Too many red flags and too many Joker-esque moments. We're basically past the point of no return. Mitch isn't the most savvy guy out there (to put it lightly) but he's smart enough to know what happens when Kentucky fans aren't buying his $8 Commonwealth Snickers and spending thousands on K-fund "donations". Mitch's gravy train is about to run completely off the tracks and even he can see that. Something has to give. I'm not even sure that making DJ Eliot the scapegoat at season's end would make a difference at this point.

I would place the odds of Stoops being back next year regardless of 2016 record at 80%, or higher.

I agree. And it's a direct result of the stupidity of Barnhart. The bigger joke is Barnhart getting an extension of his contract. But there won't be anyone at the games and eventually Stoops will be fired at some point.

If Stoops doesn't make a bowl game he is gone. And that's a fact. There will be no hope or fan support left. Commonwealth attendance will be a at Vandy Joker level all season long, season ticket renewals will be practically non existent. There will be transfers and recruiting will plummet. Not only for the fact that nobody wants to play for crap coach. Also, the recruits who actually do want to play here will never commit with so much uncertainty surrounding the coaches job security. Just an all around bad situation. And people are acting like we're just gunna give him 12mil upfront. The money will be paid over several years. While it's not an ideal situation, it's not as crippling as some let on. We can fire him if we need to.

Unless there is a DRASTIC change soon, this team will not win more than two games. Where are some of you getting 4 or 5 wins from? I wouldn't be surprised if we lost to New Mexico State, but to be frank that's our best shot for a win. Either Stoops will be gone, or Barnhart and Stoops will both be gone.

Why would rj cormans family underwrite Mitch's football stupidity? At some point the ad has to own his strategy in hiring.

I think he will be back unless he completely losses the team which is possible. I think the South Carolina game is the defining point. If we win that and are 2-2 we might have some fight. If we loose that ( 1-3) they face Bama the next week so that will be a loss and the down-spiral might be really bad.

You all keep speaking of football boosters. I have no clue but are there that many football boosters?

I honestly think he would be the coach next season, buyout or no buyout.

You have to pay one hundred to sit in the corner, back row. Of course that includes a mask to hide your face.

I don't think people really care anymore.

We often see people who have disabilities or other hardships and wonder how they deal with it.

Though not on the same level of importance I think most UK football fans have just become kind of numb to it and have accepted this as the way KY football will always be.

Unfortunately the powers that be realize the same thing and are in no hurry to really make any meaningful change.
