Oregon was screwed once the starting center and Adams went out. If you've watched any of their games w/o Adams, they are a completely different team. Locke is horrible.

Oregon could have put the QB under center. They ran most plays with 15 - 20 seconds left instead of using the clock. They were running well but still ran questionable passing plays that stopped the clock. Coaching means you ADAPT to win the game. PITIFUL coaching.

When you don't snap the ball under center as part of your offense, you don't parctice that. That would have screwed everything up even more since they use the read option. Can't use the read option by snapping under center. The Ducks had 18 yards in the 2nd half. They weren't running the ball well either. Here is where the Ducks screwed up...Helfrich and his crew had no plan for replacement of Mariota. They had to bring in Adams and are again bringing in a grad transfer this upcoming season. They need to recruit a QB.

I think a well coached FB team or an average coached FB team could hold onto a 31-0 lead in the second half. I mean you have to do some bad things to lose it. No way to sugar coat it. Phil Knight is going to be looking for answers tomorrow and Monday, changes are coming. On a serious note, their coach seems like nice fella but one that is going to Tubby it, the Oregon experiment was fun but is going to grind to a screeching halt compared to the last 10 years. IMO

No changes are coming. Did you forget that they went to the National Championship game last year? They were 7-0 with a healthy Adams including a win at Stanford. They will be just fine.

Everything went thru Adams, run and pass. It was dramatically different when he went down.

Yep. Adams broke his finger in game 1 and played with a broken finger in the MSU game, then sat out the next 4 (he played breifly in the drubbing by Utah). All 3 of those losses came in that 5 game stretch where he played with a broken finger (MSU), played very little (Utah) or didn't play at all (Wazoo).

Now that Chip Kelly is looking for a job I can see a buyout coming.

Oregon's 15 minutes are just about up. They will never play for a NC IMO again. They lost Kelly, Olivadoti, and this guy is Tubby Smith with the keys to the Mercedes. This is was a great run but USC was down for those years and I think a top 15 program or a half way coached team could milk a 31-0 second half lead.
Badly coached, Will start to see this program fad into obscurity. They will be a good program because of Nike but they are not going to be NC program.

With the facilities and NIKE money, they will always be a top tier program in the PAC12. The fact is, their starting QB broke his finger in the first game of the season. With a healthy VAJ, they are a 1 or 2 loss team. The win @ Stanford should prove that. If Masoli or Thomas get hurt during any of their seasons, Chip doesn't go on the run he did (especially with Thomas for a couple of years). Helfrich's teams finished 9th, 2nd and most likely around 20th in the country this season. Again, the injuries to VAJ are a HUGE reason for that. If VAJ doesn't get hurt this year, we're not having this discussion. No way this program is fading into obscurity. If Helfrich isn't the guy, then Phil Knight will pay for his buyout and they will find the right guy.
